Job Description

 This role is responsible for working collaboratively with QA Labs Business Owners, Manufacturing Sites and the broader BTS organization to conceive, design, engineer, and implement data, software, and technology solutions that solve significant scientific or business problems for Quality Labs processes.  A successful candidate will develop deep understanding of lab processes to investigate, identify, and implement state-of-the-art technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains in Product Release Testing​, Stability Study Operations, and Lab Inventory Management for all AbbVie QC labs.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Conceive, design, engineer, and implement data, software, or technology solutions by studying system flows, data usage, and quality labs process to solve problem areas or unmet business value.  The candidate is expected to work effectively across various IT shared services teams, manufacturing site representatives, and QA Labs business stakeholders. 

  • Ensures data & technology roadmaps for portfolio of labs solutions enables business objectives while optimizing the total cost of ownership for IT solutions and ensuring compliance to applicable regulations 

  • Collaborates with capabilities teams and solution vendors to minimize production issues, ensure continuity of business solutions, assure alignment with architecture & technology standards, and ability of product to scale to meet AbbVie requirements. 

  • Defines Data, Reporting and AI strategies for AbbVie QC Labs and outlines value-based roadmaps to enable business insights and improve efficiency. 

  • Identify current and emerging business needs and evaluate technology solutions to balance short-term and long-term objectives.  Understands both data and technology capabilities already in use across AbbVie and recommend appropriate solutions. 

  • Analyzes and resolves technical problems using analytical problem-solving methods/techniques and associated tools/devices. 

  • Demonstrate high proficiency across a wide range of technologies and platforms related to software design and development, programming languages, data integration, data warehousing, data analysis and visualization tools, data storage, network connectivity, and virtualization/cloud environments. 

  • Highly autonomous and productive in performing activities, requiring minimal direction from or interaction with supervisor. Accountable for total project scope, budget, completion within budget constraints and scheduled completion date. Accountable for successful and timely completion of all tasks/projects under direct and matrix control. 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience including business analysis, project management, portfolio management, and strategic planning; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience.
  • Excellent analytical, judgment and consultative capabilities and communication skills 
  • Excellent communications and influencing skills with strong ability to balance differing stakeholder interests through sound analysis and persuasion. 
  • Must have significant experience configuring and deploying Lab Systems (LIMS, ELN, CDS, Inventory, Asset Management) and system integrations experience.
  • Detailed understanding of relational databases, reporting databases, possesses SQL skills and coding skills (eg. Python, C#, json)
  • Proven project leadership and team leadership skills
