Job Description
Client Finance team, part of Citi’s FP&A organization is looking for a full-time Vice President to join its team at the Buffalo, NY office. This team is responsible for managing the development and consolidation of monthly client financials with effective governance & controls, managing engagement with technology to execute on the book of work, and for developing and delivering tools to analyze client returns for business partners to use for client decision making. The team also focuses on establishing routines for monitoring data quality and establishing well governed controls aligned with the data governance policies. The resulting monthly client metrics produced through these processes are used by bankers and sales teams for client decision making.
The “Business Analytics – Lead Analyst” position is expected to analyze operational data, develop and present proposals for improving processes that produce monthly client financials and design upgraded capabilities for reporting and analytics. The broad areas of responsibilities include:
- Gather operational data from various cross functional stakeholders to examine past business performance
- Identify data patterns & trends, and provide insights to enhance business decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment etc.
- Recommend actions for future development & strategic business opportunities, as well as enhancements to operational policies
- Translate data into consumer or customer behavioral insights to drive targeting and segmentation strategies, and communicate clearly and effectively with business partners and senior leaders
- Continuously improve processes and strategies by exploring and evaluating new data sources, tools, and capabilities
- Work closely with internal and external business partners in building, implementing, tracking and improving decision strategies
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Skills:
- Thoughtful analytical skills and problem solving; able to develop insights and clearly present to various audiences
- Strong business and technical communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with COGNOS, Tableau, SQL and/or Python a plus
- Working knowledge of Citi, the financial services industry and financial products
- Ability to foster and build effective working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders across multiple departments and locations
- Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment while maintaining attention to detail and complete accuracy
- Problem resolution from start to finish with appropriate end to end proven results
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience
- Experience as an Operations Research Analyst, Analytics Manager, Strategic Business Analyst or related position performing quantitative analytics supporting financial services
- Experience analyzing large datasets; applying mathematical, statistical and quantitative analysis techniques to perform complex analyses and data mining
- Effective communication at all levels including with Sales and Trading
- Ability to work in teams and on their own
Education:
- Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
