Job Details

In this role we are looking for someone who develops software programs in order to test code and applications. Involved in requirements analysis, test planning activities, test case automation and execution of critical test cases/scripts required to ensure that the software meets business requirements. Functional Testing levels may include application integration, system, system/network integration and acceptance testing; may also include non-functional testing such as performance, volume, load and fallback. Mentors and guides the team to perform functional, nonfunctional testing and other testing activities Software process professionals are involved in driving the corporate CMM process improvement program and in assessing and reporting on the software development processes adopted by projects through audits, reviews and inspections. About the Role:

  • Individual Team Lead role but would also require help with recruiting, training, mentoring junior resources in team.
  • Define and implement QA process improvements.  Actively promote industry standard best practices and thorough testing of software products.
  • Define and implement test strategies, test plans and test cases for the application suite.  Ensure that appropriate functional and regression tests are in place.
  • Analyze customer defects to identify deficiencies in test plans and procedures and enhance test coverage accordingly.
  • Participate in Product requirements definition reviews and functional specification reviews to ensure that critical information is included and testability requirements are met.
  • Work closely with BA, Content Dev team to define test scenarios and test cases.
  • Work closely with development and platform teams in creating the test environment for monitoring, data gathering and reporting
  • Collaborate with QA automation team to ensure the efficient development of repeatable regression testing.  Collaborate with development teams to implement continuous integration across the relationship trading platform.
  • Participating in project/work planning sessions with team members to analyze requirements.
  • Lead or assist in developing test plans.                                 
  • Develop high quality manual test scripts from requirements/user stories and regression test content. 
  • Take ownership and maintain the test scripts in test management tools.
  • Take part in reviews of own work and the work of colleagues.
  • Test execution and documentation.              
  • Quickly absorb complicated technological content in a fast-paced environment.                
  • Excel in an independent process driven professional QA environment.                              
  • Design, create, execute and maintain manual test scripts, test plan when required.
  • Providing status updates and reports to Manager for the assigned work.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in B.E/ B.Tech/ BCA / MCA / MSc (Comp / IT)/BBA/MBA/BSc/BCom
  • 6-8 years of experience in manual/automation testing.
  • Test Management: ADO, HP Quality Center
  • Testing Experience in Tax \ Finance domain will be preferable
  • Database Skills: Beginner/Intermediate (SQL Server - Ability to write/analyze Queries)
  • Automation Tool – Experience in Selenium or any other tool with scripting experience will be a plus point.
  • Able to analyze the requirements/user stories and capable of clarifying any ambiguities with BA and content dev team.
  • Use-case/test case analysis and creation.
  • Construction of test plans and test cases for releases.
  • Experience in drafting test scripts, prepare test data and execute the test scripts.
  • An organized and methodical approach to work, especially attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven problem solver with demonstrable analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and use own initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Agile and capable of dealing with stakeholders from different teams and at a senior level.
  • 6-8 years of Testing experience (Manual)with hands on experience in end-to-end testing activities
  • Proficient with test management / defect tracking tools (e.g. Quality Center/MTM) 
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Direct staff management
  • Ability to collaborate with product managers, developers, application support and help desk to improve product quality and increase productivity.
  • Project planning and estimation.
  • Issue, risk and dependency management
  • Knowledge of tax software systems/financial domain preferred.
  • Knowledge/Experience of Automation test tools will be an advantage.
  • The ability to work virtually with people in different locations both within the UK and globally.
  • Languages may be an advantage.
  • Interest in technology and demonstrable knowledge of software systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
