Skills and Competencies
5+ years of hands‑on AWS cloud, platform, or DevOps engineering experience supporting scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure.
Strong proficiency with core AWS services including VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.
Expertise designing secure multi‑account AWS environments, including VPC architectures, subnetting, routing, IAM roles, and security guardrails.
Advanced skills in Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation to standardize cloud provisioning and enforce configuration consistency.
Experience building reusable CI/CD pipelines, shared templates, and automation frameworks that improve delivery velocity.
Strong understanding of networking, IAM governance, encryption strategies, and cloud security fundamentals.
Proficiency in observability tooling such as CloudWatch metrics, logs, dashboards, alarms, and distributed monitoring patterns.
Experience supporting audit and compliance frameworks, production readiness reviews, and cloud security assessments.
Ability to troubleshoot complex platform issues across networking, compute, identity, and shared cloud services.
Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation, tooling, and workflow orchestration.
Collaborative mindset with experience partnering across Security, CloudOps, IT, and Networking to maintain guardrails and shared cloud standards.

Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities
Design, build, and standardize secure AWS cloud environments including VPCs, subnet structures, routing rules, security groups, IAM roles, and multi‑account architectures.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform or CloudFormation for consistent, repeatable environment provisioning.
Build reusable CI/CD pipeline templates and automation frameworks that enable teams to ship reliably at scale.
Create self‑service tools and workflows that allow engineering teams to provision resources and adopt cloud patterns securely.
Collaborate with Security, CloudOps, IT, and Networking teams to define and enforce platform guardrails and enterprise cloud standards.
Implement robust observability using CloudWatch metrics, logs, alarms, dashboards, and events across services and environments.
Enforce AWS security best practices, including least‑privilege IAM, encryption standards, network segmentation, and configuration compliance.
Support audits, compliance reviews, platform assessments, and production readiness processes to ensure cloud environments remain secure and reliable.
Troubleshoot platform‑level issues across network, compute, identity, and shared cloud layers.
Participate in platform architecture discussions and roadmap planning, influencing long‑term cloud strategy and modernization efforts.
Partner with engineering teams to improve reliability, performance, and operational excellence across applications running on shared platforms.

Senior Platform/DevOps Engineers at Moody’s design and standardize secure AWS foundations that enable reliable delivery at scale. They implement IaC, reusable pipelines, guardrails, and observability across environments to maintain consistency and operational excellence.
They collaborate closely with Security, CloudOps, IT, and Networking teams to enforce best practices, support audits, and resolve platform challenges—ensuring the infrastructure remains resilient, compliant, and cost‑effective.
