Job Description

The Manager, Sales Excellence and Strategy, Visa Direct serves as an important contributor for the Sales & Revenue Office team handling Money Movement Solutions globally. This role is responsible for leading the design of compensation strategy and delivering top tier analytic and decision support, enabling the team to pursue long-term strategy more effectively.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling large datasets and working with distributed computing technologies. He or she thrives on working with substantial amounts of data, appreciates the challenge of highly complex technical contexts, and above all, has a passion for data and analytics. The successful candidate should be proficient with data modeling, ETL design, and business intelligence tools. He or she will enthusiastically collaborate with customers to identify strategic opportunities in the realm of data engineering and analytics. We expect this person to be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, capable of thinking big, and enjoy working in a dynamic team that continuously learns and evolves daily.

To thrive in this role, you must demonstrate the ability to influence business owners, facilitate informed decision-making through data and analytics, and engage with executives through excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate's key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with Sales Leaders and the Global Sales Compensation team to execute and maintain regional Sales Compensation plans, ensuring they align with corporate policies, business goals, and internal systems.
  • Lead the design and implementation of the Visa Direct Compensation Strategy, ensuring it aligns with organizational goals and competitive practices for over 300 sellers and account managers.
  • Calculate and validate monthly quota attainments for sales and account managers and communicate these results to the respective regions.
  • Work closely with regional teams to reflect sales hierarchy, plan rules, quotas, and other relevant parameters.
  • Address any queries regarding Compensation plans and quota attainment.
  • Provide analytical support, including the assessment of historical data and pipeline analysis, and conduct ad-hoc research on variable pay projects as identified by management. Summarize findings and provide recommendations to Visa Direct Sales Compensation Lead.
  • Conduct data analysis using statistical techniques and generate ongoing reports. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and data analytics strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Acquire and maintain data from primary and secondary sources and ensure the integrity of databases and data systems. Identify and analyze trends or patterns in complex data sets, and clean data by reviewing reports and performance indicators.
  • Prioritize business and information needs in collaboration with management and identify new process improvement opportunities.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical background in the finance, banking, or payment industry. They should have excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate complex data clearly and concisely.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Proven experience in Sales Operations.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems, sales analytics platforms, and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong writing and storytelling abilities, with experience creating custom pitch decks.
  • Excellent presentation and training skills.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Analytical skills and experience with analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and navigate through ambiguity
  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages e.g. Business Objects etc, databases e.g. SQL, programming e.g. XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets e.g. Excel, PowerBI, Tableau etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Additional Information

Work Authorization: Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position.

Relocation: This role does not provide relocation assistance.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 116,300.00 to 186,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
