The Strategic Oversight AVP will play a crucial role in supporting the strategic and operational execution of Morgan Stanley's AI program. This position is designed for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can effectively contribute to the management of key GenAI initiatives. The AVP will work closely with senior leadership to ensure that the AI initiatives are aligned with the overall program objectives and are executed efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of AI technologies and their application within the financial services industry, as well as the ability to navigate complex and dynamic project environments.
In this role, the AVP will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of the AI program's portfolio, providing valuable insights into project progress, and identifying potential challenges. The individual will contribute to the development of executive reports and dashboards, offering a clear view of the program's performance and impact. Additionally, the AVP will support the management of dependencies and risks, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly to maintain alignment with strategic goals. By fostering collaboration among various stakeholders, the AVP will help drive the successful integration and adoption of AI tools and solutions, ultimately contributing to the program's success and the firm's competitive edge in the market.

Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of ten sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow, Digital Trading & Investing, Generative AI, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution, WM Platforms Risk, and the Chief Operating Office.
The Wealth Management GenAI Team is a dynamic and innovative department that serves as a center of AI enablement across Wealth Management. The team is responsible for deploying advanced tools, platforms, and solutions that utilize generative artificial intelligence to optimize business processes. We oversee content creation, management, and governance to ensure the highest content quality for our AI system to utilize. The team is committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and evolution in this rapidly changing space.
What you’ll do in the role:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of executive reporting and dashboards to provide insights into program progress and performance.
- Support the oversight of the AI program's portfolio, helping to track ongoing projects, identify blockers, and monitor delivered outcomes
- Help manage dependencies and risks associated with the program, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with strategic goals
- Participate in establishing and maintaining an operating model through regular meetings and updates, ensuring accountability and alignment across all stakeholders
- Support decision-making processes and ensure follow-through to achieve desired outcomes for all initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the integration and adoption of AI tools and solutions
- Aid in the enablement and adoption of AI initiatives by contributing to the development of training materials, best practices, and communication strategies
- Design and monitor key performance indicators to assess the impact of initiatives and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement
- Create and maintain the “single view” of priorities, dependencies, risks, and open issues across the CAO portfolio
- Organize team activities and communications, and monitor budget and headcount (forecasting, variance tracking, and staffing alignment)
Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience required
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Wealth Management operations or related roles in the financial services industry
- Partnering/working with stakeholders across different areas
- Work independently and with a team, possessing strong sense of accountability and relationship-building
- Strategic thinker with the ability to understand and communicate the broader vision, while identifying potential risks, trends, and solutions, particularly when collaborating with technology and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to conduct thorough research and present findings clearly and persuasively to various audiences.
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work.
- Independent self-starter who can manage multiple activities to aggressive deadlines
- Strong time management skills and ability to drive projects to completion within budget
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
