About the team

ZG AI Platform builds the shared capabilities that enable teams across Zillow Group to build, launch, and scale agentic AI experiences - safely, reliably, and cost-effectively. We take hard-earned lessons from early agentic experiments and productize them into reusable platform capabilities, so teams can ship production-grade agentic experiences with confidence.

About the role

As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll own core platform products and services that power agent workflows, evaluation and quality systems, observability, and the guardrails needed to operate at Zillow scale. You’ll work across engineering, applied AI/ML, infrastructure, security/privacy, and experience product teams to deliver reusable platform capabilities that help teams ship faster with higher quality - while meeting strict standards for cost, latency, reliability, safety, and governance. We’re looking for a product manager who combines platform product instincts, hands-on AI fluency, and the operational rigor to take agentic systems from prototype to production at Zillow scale.

You Will Get To

  • Define and drive the platform strategy and roadmap for agentic AI capabilities, including memory/context, policy, guardrails, and deployment standards.

  • Build APIs, SDKs, archetypes, and developer workflows to accelerate shipping agentic experiences.

  • Scale evaluation systems, including dataset management, evaluation harnesses, and human-in-the-loop review flows.

  • Establish observability standards and dashboards for agent workflows, tool calls, and model interactions.

  • Optimize cost efficiency through model selection, caching, routing, and usage governance.

  • Partner with security, privacy, and compliance teams to ensure safe and auditable AI operations.

  • Align stakeholders, prioritize backlogs, and communicate progress with clear narratives and metrics.

  • Own reliability and performance outcomes, including SLOs, latency budgets, and incident learnings.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $160,900.00 - $257,100.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.

Who you are

  • 6+ years of product management experience, including platform or developer-facing products (APIs, SDKs, platforms, internal tooling).

  • Strong technical and AI fluency, with the ability to partner with engineering, ML, and applied science teams and make tradeoffs across latency, throughput, accuracy, and unit economics.

  • Experience defining metrics, SLOs, and operating mechanisms for complex systems.

  • Proven ability to align and lead cross-functional teams around shared priorities.

  • Familiarity with LLM/agentic systems, orchestration frameworks, and prompt/version management.

  • Experience building or running evaluation systems, including offline/online experiments and quality gates.

  • Background in observability, ML Ops, and responsible AI practices.

  • Here at Zillow, we value the experience and perspective of candidates with non-traditional backgrounds. We encourage you to apply if you have transferable skills or related experiences.
