The Sales Analytics team is responsible for the last mile delivery for performance measurement, insight generation & execution, product rollout effectiveness, development of new sales features, and finally the frontline feedback loop on day to day metric management for ZHL. Our scope is to ensure our ZHL sales team effectively executes the various strategic & growth initiatives by supporting metric development, crafting objective business review storylines, and enabling our sales managers to optimize performance within their individual sales teams using reporting & insights generated both within the team and from partner stakeholder teams. Our team is made up of “multi-skill” athletes that are able to dive into cross-system integration logic with engineering partners as needed, but also simplify the messaging and delivery to non-technical audiences.
About the role
The Sales Analytics & Operations Analyst will serve as a technical analyst that will own the flow of data logic that powers our frontline reporting and enablement. This role will be an expert at understanding the logic behind delivered metrics with the ability to trace signals backwards through the data model to the source of truth systems engineered by our product teams. The Sales Analytics & Operations Analyst will dive into metric anomalies to diagnose whether metric discrepancies are either bugs (working with engineering teams to solve) or features (communicating to frontline teams on assumptions or how to interpret features of a metric). This analyst will partner closely with our centralized analytics and reporting teams to ensure there are no conflicts in insights or metrics delivered to sales teams as well as build out requirements for data science, reporting, or engineering needs. This role will connect how our frontline teams leverage their CRM tools with how sales managers determine sales performance and drive sales productivity. Additionally, this role will conduct ad hoc analyses that support strategic updates to metrics or assumptions in setting targets, acting as a “backbone” of objectivity as we grow and scale our sales operation motion.
What you’ll do
Develop an intake process for metric diagnostics, deep dive requests, or quantitative / analytical sales support
Gather reporting requirements from frontline managers, scope the needed requests for product and engineering partners, and communicate effective changes back to end users
Document metric definitions and support the development of a sales playbook to ensure consistent interpretation of KPI’s
Define new and refine existing input and output based performance metrics, driving our frontline teams to forward biased action
Partner with stakeholders to understand and clarify requirements to creatively solve complex business problems with analytic solutions
Conduct ad hoc sales analysis that informs assumptions into forecasting models / targets and also metric definitions to reduce nuance and improve clarity
Identify technical logic bugs that diminish integrity in metrics, working with data engineering partners to patch logic and communicating back with frontline teams on changes made
Proactively identify areas of opportunity in the sales motion, operational processes, and reporting suite to drive sales growth and productivity improvements
Collaborate and become a conduit between our sales team and technical teams to ensure alignment across what teams need and what is being built / worked on
Who you are
5+ years in an analytical role supporting operational teams
3+ years of experience communicating regularly with executive stakeholders
Strong bias for action and impact informed by your data insights
Ability to design and communicate your analytical roadmap to peers and stakeholders
Strong business acumen, communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally and connect customer problems to business strategy
Expert in SQL and data visualization software and a data driven problem solver (databricks experience a plus)
Curious about data models, logic, and system integration assumptions with the ability to understand logic gaps and technical considerations in data modeling
An ability to execute with minimal guidance, and in contexts with a high degree of ambiguity to develop one’s subject matter expertise
Bachelor’s degree required
