Skills and Competencies
  • Experience working in a legal privacy role for a global organization
  • Experience researching evolving regulatory requirements
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat (including editing PDFs), and SharePoint (including setup and maintenance)
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience with process automation, use of AI in business processes, and workflow tools such as JIRA (highly desirable)
  • Experience with the OneTrust privacy compliance tool (desirable)
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a legal field preferred
Responsibilities
The Legal Specialist will support the Global Privacy Team in maintaining Moody’s global data privacy program and will handle day‑to‑day privacy operations across jurisdictions.
  • Conduct legal research to maintain and update internal global privacy, cyber, data breach, and AI law reference charts
  • Maintain global compliance documentation, including Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs), personal data retention schedules, and data incident registers
  • Manage the OneTrust privacy compliance tool for maintaining and updating ROPAs
  • Prepare reporting and management information on legal compliance, including quarterly and annual statistics for privacy requests and data incidents
  • Maintain and update the Global Privacy Team’s resources and content on Moody’s internal intranet and team SharePoint
  • Use technology, including Agentic AI, to create efficiency in Privacy Team workflows—for example, automating logging and tracking of privacy review requests or data incidents
About the Team
The Global Privacy Legal Team is part of Moody’s Legal Department and serves as the center of excellence for privacy guidance across Moody’s Corporation and its majority‑owned affiliates. The team supports all functions and lines of business, advising on a broad range of privacy matters across diverse data domains, including HR, vendors, marketing, websites, SaaS products, data matching services, and data brokerage.
