The Investment Monitoring Lead will be part of the Technology Investment Planning and Performance team focused on establishing a robust and effective practice for evaluating projects in the Technology Book of Work (BoW), ensuring they align with their approved Investment, adhere to established standards, and deliver maximum value. This practice aims to reduce risks, improve decision-making and optimize funding allocation.

A key focus will be to look for opportunities for cost savings to ensure the firm’s money is being properly allocated so that we are able to fund the most important work. In addition, the reviews should help identify issues early on and provide a channel to raise any risks or issues and get the teams the support they need to allow them to deliver against the aligned investment business case.
This role requires strong people skills with sound exposure of working with project management tools, e.g. PTS and Investments@Citi. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.
Key Responsibilities
Play a key role in growing the team - Help with any recruitment, onboarding and development of skilled personnel for the gating and monitoring function. This includes training and mentoring staff and strategically assigning individuals to maximize their impact and expertise within the team.
Assist in the design and implement comprehensive reporting mechanisms and interactive dashboards. These tools will provide real-time visibility into review status, key performance indicators (KPIs), resource utilization, and potential roadblocks, enabling proactive management and informed decision-making.
Integrate Artificial Intelligence capabilities to support the analysis of the "Book of Work" and streamline pre-review checklist processes. This involves leveraging AI for pattern recognition, predictive analytics, and automated data aggregation to identify trends, flag potential issues, and improve the accuracy and speed of initial project assessments.
Engage with leadership to understand their perspectives, challenges and align on common goals and objectives for gating and monitoring
Develop subject-matter expertise in the Technology Investment Planning process to be able to partner with the investment leads and other stakeholders during the process.
Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including Business Execution Leads, PMs, Sponsors and Investment Leads and support them with ad hoc investment planning related queries as needed
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Tableau is a strong plus.
Project Management: Deep understanding of the project management lifecycle with proven track record of managing complex initiatives within large organizational structures. familiarity with PTS and Investments@Citi is a strong plus.
Analytical Acumen: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Communication & Presentation: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly and concisely to senior audiences.
Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective internal networks and collaborate across diverse functional and cross-functional teams.
Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt, re-adjust under pressure, and manage challenging situations effectively.
Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant experience in a related technology role, with at least 3 years in a strategic, analytical, or project management role.
Has managed complex projects for a major investment bank
Experience of working in geographically diverse, multi-team environments
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to quality and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal relationships with ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
