The Tax Information Exchange Specialist (“TIES”) team is responsible for ensuring the appropriate governance and control infrastructure is in place to meet the demand for the ever-evolving regulatory environment. Job Responsibilities
This position requires the individual to work within the Tax Information Exchange Specialist (TIES) team to fulfil the following duties and responsibilities and to act in all aspects of the running and management of the processes as delegated by the team head.
- Ensure completion of all FATCA and CRS reporting requirements across various jurisdictions including Cayman, Jersey, Switzerland, Bahamas, Singapore and BVI and keep all registrations up to date.
- Assisting with the completion and upload of Cayman Islands CRS compliance forms (approximately 700 forms per annum), obtaining approval from the business and upload to the Cayman Automatic Exchange of Information Portal.
- Track, monitor and follow-up on all client mailings. Report status to management. Update systems to ensure it has all relevant residence/domicile information.
- Assist in the preparation of self-certification forms for Trusts / Entities (as required by Citi). This is for all our trusts and companies and also involves queries from the Tax Information Reporting “TIR” team.
- Review the CRS and FATCA entity classifications and the reportable persons within the control framework. Manage the CRS and FATCA attestations.
- Assisting the team in responding to CRS and FATCA queries from Bankers/ controllers on tax reporting queries and provide training as required.
- Assist with the preparation of the Jersey tax returns and the Economic Substance (ES) filings in multiple jurisdictions. Prepare the ES returns per local legislation ensuring the deadlines and requirements are met.
- Maintain and enhance department procedures, including documenting the key controls throughout the process and provide ongoing training to internal staff.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in CRS, FATCA and Economic Substance reporting along with experience in leading and managing a team.
- Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification.
- Strong knowledge and proven technical proficiency in the legal and tax issues relative to trust and/or estate management.
- Strong communication and presentation skills
