Job Details

We are currently seeking a highly motivated cloud software engineer with strong technical credentials for the position of Lead Cloud Engineer within our Platform Engineering team.

In this role, you will collaborate with technology peers and business partners to build and deploy the foundation for the next generation of modern cloud-native software applications and services for Thomson Reuters.

About the Role

As Lead Cloud Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and refine solutions for Cloud Landing Zones, focusing on GCP, while also collaborating with teams working on AWS and Azure

  • Provide architectural direction and guidance to engineering teams

  • Collaborate with application, technology, and security teams to align architecture with business and compliance requirements

  • Participate in incident management and continuous improvement of service offerings

  • Script infrastructure automation for continuous integration and delivery

  • Ensure consistency with cloud architectural principles and best practices

  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies across GCP, AWS, Azure, and open-source ecosystems

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development

  • Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Champion cloud-native development best practices including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automation, and security

  • Work in a collaborative, agile, and geographically distributed team environment

  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and proactive problem-solving

About You

To be considered for the role of Lead Cloud Engineer, you will need:

  • GCP Certified with strong experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications

  • Experience with GCP Landing Zones, IAM, Networking, VPC, Cloud DNS, Security, and Monitoring

  • Knowledge of other cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and OCI

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and secure deployments

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience

  • 5+ years of cloud experience, including scripting (Python, Bash), Terraform, and cloud-native architecture

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills

  • Customer-first mindset and a passion for innovation

  • Experience working in both Windows and Linux environments
