Job Description

The Senior Data Infrastructure Analyst serves as the subject matter expert for data profiling, translation, and conducting relevant data evaluations across our Global Strategic Solutions program. This role is responsible for technical User Acceptance Testing (UAT), gap analysis, and testing for new rollouts and enhancements to Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) Operations systems and tools. The analyst engages in all data integration discussions alongside Business Technology Solutions (BTS) and source system owners to enhance compliance data consistency and integrity throughout the program, ensuring robust data infrastructure supports risk management, compliance analytics, and monitoring activities.

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads business-owned technical User Acceptance Testing (UAT), gap analysis, and comprehensive testing protocols for all new rollouts and enhancements to OEC Operations analytics and digital platforms. Conducts data profiling and validation to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout deployment cycles, aligned with business need.
  • Engages in all data integration discussions with OEC teams, Business Technology Solutions (BTS), and source system owners to define data requirements, map data flows, and ensure seamless integration across compliance data infrastructure. Drives data consistency and integrity standards throughout the program.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for data profiling activities, including data quality assessments, data lineage documentation, and data translation requirements between source systems and compliance platforms. Identifies and resolves data discrepancies and anomalies.
  • Conducts relevant data evaluations to support compliance monitoring, including technical validation of data feeds, assessment of data completeness, and verification of data transformation logic. Ensures data infrastructure supports accurate identification of compliance vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Documents data infrastructure issues, data quality findings, and technical gaps identified through testing and evaluation activities. Collaborates with BTS and system owners to implement corrective actions and data remediation strategies, ensuring issues are tracked and resolved to completion.
  • Supports the deployment and enhancement of data infrastructure by providing technical and business expertise on data architecture, data integration patterns, and data quality frameworks. Develops and maintains data documentation, including data dictionaries, mapping specifications, and technical testing protocols.
  • Partners with other business users and technical teams to translate data requirements into technical specifications. Advocates for data infrastructure improvements that enhance data accessibility, reliability, and usability across OEC Operations.
  • Collaborates with OEC leads and BTS to ensure data infrastructure supports compliance analytical insights and reporting requirements. Provides technical expertise on data availability, data quality constraints, and data integration capabilities.
  • Continuously learns about new and emerging technologies to understand current system/infrastructure vulnerabilities and deficiencies, identifies potential technologies to mitigate gaps within department budget, proactively presents alternative solutions into identified problem areas to management, and performs governance SWOT analysis on solution approaches.

 

ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interface with multiple functions and stakeholders to provide data infrastructure and data integration guidance, ensuring alignment between business requirements and technical data capabilities.
  • Proactively produce data profiling reports, gap analysis documentation, UAT test plans, data mapping specifications, and technical guidelines. Deliver updates to management on data quality, integration progress, and testing outcomes, as required.
  • Supports other global OEC initiatives and Operational activities, which may require ad hoc travel (e.g., analytics workshops).

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree a plus. Preference for degrees in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or related technical fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in data infrastructure, data integration, data quality management, or business intelligence roles, preferably within Compliance, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry environments.
  • Demonstrates advanced communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to translate technical data concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Deep understanding of data infrastructure, data integration methodologies, systems development life cycle, and the application of data governance principles to support compliance processes.
  • Demonstrated success in working in an agile environment with the ability to change course quickly where required.
  • Proven track record of closing out initiatives successfully.
  • Advanced technical skills in data profiling, data mapping, data translation, and data validation techniques. Experience conducting gap analysis and technical UAT for data-centric systems.
  • Experience with data integration tools, ETL platforms, data quality tools, and analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik). Understanding of database structures, data warehousing concepts, and data architecture patterns that facilitate an efficient and effective compliance program.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and master data management concepts.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, Access, Visio (for data flow diagrams), and SQL for data querying and validation. Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including adjusting content and style for various audiences.
  • Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle and Agile frameworks and methodologies for deploying systems, analytical platforms and technologies. Strong emphasis on experience with data integration projects, ETL processes, and data testing methodologies.
  • Change agile – Ability to be flexible and adjust based on the evolving business and OEC priorities.
  • Ability to conduct thorough data profiling, identify data quality issues, and recommend data infrastructure solutions that support an efficient and effective Compliance program.
  • An understanding of business objectives and strategies and how those translate to OEC priorities in order to advise and partner with the business.
  • Good understanding of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device commercial operations and the laws, regulations and guidance applicable to the industry (e.g., Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and of the roles and authority of government agencies and industry partners, PhRMA, FDA, OIG, PDMA, Affordable Care Act, PDMA, ACCME, etc.).
