The Financing and Clearing Platform Lead Analyst is responsible for driving revenue generation, ensuring Citi offers state-of-the-art platforms, and maximizing risk management through strategic platform oversight and optimization. - Oversight and Ownership of Trading Profit & Loss Drivers: Actively participates in reviewing trading revenues, financing expenses, and other key business metrics to identify initial opportunities for revenue enhancement. Contributes to assessing trends in profitability and returns, and supports crafting growth plans in conjunction with sales and trading teams. Executes actions as appropriate to manage specific business metrics and optimize revenue mix under guidance.
- Driving Innovation and Continuous Development of Trading Platform: Assists in planning and prioritizing key enhancements to platform capabilities by gathering and documenting initial requirements for functionality enhancements. Works closely with technology and operations teams on smaller, well-defined components of delivery. Supports liaison with other key stakeholders (legal, compliance, risk, etc.) in solution design and delivery, primarily focusing on defined areas.
- Regulatory and Industry Expertise: Stays informed on key regulatory and industry changes that may impact the business and clients, with a particular focus on regulations affecting trading activities. Contributes to discussions on adjusting business direction to address material developments. Supports senior colleagues in serving as a trusted advisor to clients by providing relevant data and insights.
- Risk and Control Oversight: Maintains vigilance over business processes to ensure regulatory perfection and operational control is maintained. This includes actively participating in working with operations and technology partners to ensure key regulatory functions are performed correctly, and supports the supervision and control of business risk around significant events (expiries, roll periods, settlements etc.). Collaborates with in-business Risk and credit teams on client activity, providing necessary data and observations.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
- 6-10 years of experience in prime brokerage or futures and clearing, demonstrating a strong track record of successful project execution and contribution to revenue growth.
- Intellectual curiosity, strong analytical and conceptual thinking. Ability to use analytical tools to assess business data and trading performance, identify trends, and derive actionable insights.
- Prior oversight of business Profit & Loss or financial resource metrics, with a focus on trading-related metrics. Strong understanding of capital requirements. Knowledge of financial accounting is a plus.
- Established client relationships, built on solving problems or meeting client needs. This will include a knowledge of client trading strategies and key areas of focus, with experience in managing smaller client portfolios.
- Ability to work effectively across the trading floor, including partnering with trading desks, Quantitative analysts, and Risk functions to drive product capabilities that deliver business growth or reduce risk. Experience in contributing to projects across teams.
- Experience in planning, driving, and delivering small to medium-scale projects in conjunction with technology and operations.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements associated with financing and clearing product sets.
- Experience in assessing and controlling operational, market, or credit risk, with a focus on identifying and mitigating potential issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, contributing positively to group objectives.
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Master's degree preferred.
