We are seeking a high-caliber leader to drive regional excellence in North America and serve as a technical pillar within our Global Chemicals community.
The Senior Manager, Procurement (NA & Global Chemicals) provides regional leadership for the North American procurement team while serving as a global subject matter expert for key chemical categories. This role is responsible for executing the regional procurement strategy across our Materials Group (Label and Packaging Materials, Graphics, Reflective, and Performance Tapes) and driving the "5 Levers" strategic plan for specific global chemical categories.
Reporting Structure:
Direct Report to: Vice President, Procurement - North America & Global Chemicals.
Team Leadership: Direct management of 2–3 procurement professionals in the NA region.
Critical Objectives:
Regional Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team of 2–3 professionals. Foster a culture of excellence in executing regional spend strategies and ensuring supply security for the North American plants.
Support the management and development of strategic global and regional supplier relationships effectively leveraging Avery Dennison’s commodity spend across divisions within the Corporation.
Support the development of global strategies and drive execution regionally in close cooperation with Business, Commercial (Product Management), Operations, Supply Chain and Technical stakeholders.
Drive global and regional material cost out projects and continuously identify new raw material cost out savings opportunities.
Global Chemical Category Leadership: Act as a key leader within the Global Chemicals Community. Own the end-to-end strategy for assigned global chemical sub-categories, driving optimization and cost-competitiveness across all regions.
Project Nova Ambassador: Serve as a frontline leader for our functional transformation. Implement "Plan to Win" initiatives within the NA region and ensure team alignment with global procurement standards.
Operational Excellence & SRM: Manage critical supplier relationships. Drive year-over-year productivity, implement robust cost modeling (TCO), and ensure excellence in functional execution and governance.
Market Intelligence & Agility: Monitor and communicate market trends, geo-political risks, and feedstock fluctuations (specifically in chemicals) to enable agile decision-making for the enterprise.
Cross-Functional Innovation: Partner closely with regional R&D and Marketing teams to identify future sourcing needs and integrate supplier-led innovation into the product pipeline.
Sustainability & Risk: Advance Avery Dennison’s sustainability commitments by sourcing eco-friendly alternatives and qualifying diverse/resilient sources of supply.

Analytical Rigor: Highly proficient in data analysis, cost modeling, and utilizing digital procurement tools to drive insights.
Collaborative Influence: Ability to work seamlessly in a matrix environment, influencing stakeholders across R&D, Finance, and Operations.
Negotiation Mastery: Experience leading complex, multi-layered negotiations with large-scale chemical and material suppliers.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Engineering, or Chemistry preferred). MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Experience: 8–12 years of experience in Procurement or Strategic Sourcing, preferably within a global manufacturing environment.
Strong business acumen experience.
Knowledge of negotiating and developing contracts as well as solid business knowledge to sell procurement strategies internally to the business.
Category Expertise: Strong expertise in Chemicals is required. Experience in Paper or Films is highly desirable.
Leadership: Minimum of 2–4 years of experience managing direct reports.
Global Exposure: Experience working within a global matrix and understanding international supply chain dynamics.
Travel: Ability to travel regularly to visit suppliers and regional sites.
Global Travels as needed.
Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $127,000- $169,000/ year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
