Thomson Reuters is seeking qualified candidates for a Manager, Corporate Development opportunity. Thomson Reuters is a content driven AI and technology company at the forefront of product innovation, leveraging the power of AI to enhance its software offerings. This individual will be an integral member of the Corporate Development team, driving and executing the Company’s M&A initiatives, focused on acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. The Manager will partner closely with senior members of the team to assist with the management of transactions throughout all stages, with a heavy focus on target sourcing and analysis, financial modeling, due diligence preparation and coordination, and transaction execution. This is a high impact role that provides an opportunity to work with senior executives across corporate functional groups and business divisions, executing a wide range of transactions spanning global markets. This role offers strong opportunities for career progression within Thomson Reuters.

About the Role:

In this opportunity as Manager, Corporate Development, you will:

  • Work as a key member of the Corporate Development team, helping identify new market trends and source investment opportunities
  • Support the team in company meetings, be responsible for detailed notes and follow up communications
  • Create detailed financial forecast and synergy models, perform valuation analysis (including DCF, trading comparables and precedent transactions), model impacts to Thomson Reuters in the form of returns and accretion/dilution analysis
  • Analyze ownership, model a range of cap tables, and dilution and scenario planning
  • Manage due diligence processes and internal constituents
  • Prepare marketing materials for assets to be divested
  • Create presentations to be shared with Investment Committee and BOD for investment decisions
  • Manage outside advisers, bankers, accounting firms and law firms
  • Maintain hygiene of our internal systems including deal sourcing pipeline and CRM
  • Understand key drivers of divisional and shareholder value
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices across all business units with other members of the Corporate Development team
  • Nurture a culture which fosters creativity, innovation and a self-motivated team to drive business forward

Scope and Impact:

  • Support of acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, and any non-organic initiatives
  • Participate in cross-business groups (made up of leaders of each business) across Thomson Reuters
  • Develop strong relationships with both internal functional teams and third parties / advisors

About You 

You’re a fit for the role of Manager, Corporate Development if your background includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Development, Private Equity
  • Ability to quickly gain extensive knowledge of Thomson Reuters’ strategy, markets and competitive landscape
  • Exceptional financial modeling, analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take charge of identifying information sources, gathering, and interpreting data, executing analysis, and presenting findings
  • Comfortable in dynamic fast paced environment and able to multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to condense complex topics into clear digestible content to a broad audience, including senior management
  • Customer relationship management skills and strong focus on delivering results
  • Strong team player with experience of working with virtual teams from different functions/regions
  • Excited to learn and you roll up your sleeves to work on a range of both strategic and tactical challenges

The base compensation range varies across locations. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $115,300 USD - $214,100 USD. For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $100,100 USD - $185,900 USD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
