Role Overview

The Director, VCS Product Solutioning – Canada serves as the market lead for product solutioning and commercialization, responsible for translating Visa Commercial Solutions’ global capabilities into market‑relevant strategies and client solutions for Canada. The role partners closely with Canadian sales teams, North America and Global product organizations, and cross‑functional stakeholders to shape go‑to‑market strategy, support complex client engagements, and drive adoption of VCS solutions across priority segments.  The Director will translate global product capabilities into market‑relevant solutions, identify white‑space growth opportunities, and support complex client engagements through strategic solutioning and deal support.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Product Strategy & Solutioning

  • Support development and execution of a bold growth strategy for Visa’s Commercial business in Canada, tailored to the unique needs of SMB, LMM, and government sectors.

  • Responsible for developing, owning and leading the annual planning and multi-year strategic growth planning process.

  • Own and execute the VCS product solutioning strategy for Canada, aligned to SMB, Large Mid‑Market (LMM), and Government segments.

  • Identify market needs, gaps, and white‑space opportunities, and translate them into clear solutioning and commercialization priorities.

  • Partner with North America and Global VCS Product teams to localize product roadmaps and influence future capabilities based on Canadian market requirements.

Product Commercialization & Go‑to‑Market

  • Lead market readiness for new VCS products and enhancements, including value propositions, positioning, and use‑case definition.

  • Develop client‑facing solution narratives, pitch materials, and commercialization plans to support sales execution.

  • Act as the market subject‑matter expert for VCS products, competitive dynamics, and industry trends.

Sales & Client Solution Support

  • Partner with Specialized Sales and Account Executives on complex opportunities, providing solution design, product expertise, and strategic guidance throughout the sales cycle.

  • Support deal structuring and solution optimization for priority pursuits, including RFPs and strategic client initiatives.

  • Participate directly in select client meetings as a trusted product and solutioning advisor.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, and market‑ready.

  • Support implementations and early lifecycle optimization, ensuring smooth handoff and strong client outcomes.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to solutioning and commercialization resources aligned to VCS in Canada (as applicable).

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture aligned with Visa’s values

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Experience in product solutioning, commercialization, strategy, or related roles within payments, financial services, or technology.
  • Experience within payments, commercial cards, B2B payments, money movement, or financial technology, ideally supporting SMB, Large Mid Market, or Government.
  • Demonstrated success in product solutioning, commercialization, or go to market roles, including translating product capabilities into client ready value propositions.
  • Strong understanding of the end to end product lifecycle, including market discovery, solution design, commercialization, implementation, and post launch optimization.
  • Proven ability to partner with sales teams on complex, consultative engagements, supporting solution design, deal structuring, and executive level client discussions.
  • Experience working effectively in a matrixed, cross functional environment, collaborating with product, technology, legal, risk, compliance, marketing, and operations teams across regions.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence without direct authority, driving alignment across stakeholders with diverse priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at both executive and working team levels.
  • Experience developing client facing materials, including solution narratives, presentations, commercialization plans, and thought leadership content.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, operate effectively under ambiguity, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Intellectual curiosity and comfort staying ahead of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies within payments and financial services.
  • Prior experience working with Canadian financial institutions, fintechs, or ecosystem partners is an asset.
