Your Team

The Corporate Tax Team at Invesco is divided into Direct Tax and Indirect Tax compliance. The Indirect Tax team handles various activities including preparing and filing of EMEA and North America Indirect tax returns, tax accounting and reconciliations, conducting value-added analysis, and optimizing processes. This team works closely with the business, global tax teams, and external service providers to ensure efficient and accurate tax activities

Your Role

• As a Team Lead in the GBS Indirect Tax team, you will bring 7–9 years of experience in indirect tax compliance and operations, preferably across multiple regions (EMEA, Americas).
• This role will be critical to ensuring seamless day-to-day business activities and providing strong backup support to the Indirect Tax Manager.
• You will manage key BAU processes, oversee compliance deliverables, and act as a bridge between the manager and the team to maintain operational excellence without disruption.
• In addition to managing complex compliance matters, you will take ownership of team leadership and people management responsibilities, including workload allocation, performance monitoring, and mentoring.
• Your leadership will ensure timely execution of indirect tax obligations, adherence to global standards, and continuous improvement of processes.
• Lead and manage day-to-day indirect tax operations across regions where Invesco operates, ensuring timely and accurate compliance.
• Oversee and review indirect tax returns, reconciliations, and supporting documentation prepared by the team. Manage and develop team members, including setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a high-performing culture.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex compliance queries and provide expert guidance. Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and efficiency enhancements across indirect tax operations.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, external advisors, and tax authorities to resolve issues and maintain strong relationships.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely preparation and resolution of queries. Mentor and coach team members, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.

The Experience You Bring:

• 7–9 years of hands-on experience in indirect tax compliance and operations, preferably in a multinational or GBS/GCC environment.
• Strong knowledge of indirect tax regulations across multiple regions (EMEA experience is highly desirable).
• Proven people management experience, including team leadership, performance management, and mentoring.
• Ability to manage complex tax processes and lead a team effectively. Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Oracle Cloud) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Exposure to automation tools and process improvement initiatives is a plus.
• Experience working in Big 6 or similar professional environments is desirable.

Academic requirements

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting or semi qualified CAs. Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CA) are highly desirable.
