Overview:

Define the future of Shure!

We are hiring for a Senior Manager, Product Management - ShureCloud Platform, and in this role, you will be responsible for bridging product strategy and foundational system definition. This role is crucial for ensuring that the ShureCloud connectivity system and its related edge components (ShureEdge, ShureOS) are designed with the right internal frameworks to enable powerful, reusable, and scalable connected products.

This is a System Product Leadership position within the Product Management organization, focused on defining the architecture of capability and system reuse strategies to drive our transformation, acting as the internal champion for engineering velocity and architectural health.

This is a hybrid position, working out of our Niles, IL HQ Office.

Responsibilities:
  • Define Development Disciplines and Frameworks: Own and articulate the internal product roadmap focused on adopting industry standard and best practices for modern software/cloud development disciplines. This includes defining the frameworks necessary for maximizing reusability, modularity, scalability, and agility across our connected system.
  • System Architectural Principles: Define the core product requirements and architectural principles (the "What") for critical internal systems, ensuring they result in a strong foundation built on principles of portability, iterative development, and operational excellence.
  • Proof of Concept & Acceleration: Define and drive the requirements for proof-of-concept initiatives and core services that enable other product teams to integrate and launch connected features rapidly. This includes defining the necessary SDKs, common libraries, and developer enablement tools to drive process improvement in development.
  • Integrate Internal & External Needs: Strategically weave the internal framework and process improvement roadmap with the market features and requirements that are driven by other product managers (e.g., ensuring a new Device Provisioning framework supports high-volume, secure deployment while adhering to the license management needs of specific product lines).
  • Foundational Capability Definition: Define the product requirements for fundamental services like global provisioning, identity management, authentication, and core data ingestion—ensuring these are architected to be reusable building blocks.
  • Partner with Engineering Architecture: Collaborate daily with the Cloud Engineering Architecture team to ensure the defined product capabilities are translated into a sound, scalable, and reliable technical implementation (the "How"). This role defines the product requirements for the architecture, ensuring customer needs and business scale are met.
  • Collaborate with Platform Product Manager: Work closely with the core Platform Product Manager to detail the foundational capability requirements and ensure the day-to-day execution of the system roadmap aligns with the strategic system definition.
  • Internal Governance: Drive system consistency across product teams by establishing and promoting standards for integration, API consumption, data models, and service interaction to maximize system reuse and reduce development friction across the organization.
  • New Product Development Model: Provide the critical system-level expertise to transition Shure from a hardware-first development model to a continuous, integrated connected solutions model.
  • Influence and Mentorship: Act as an internal consultant and technical product leader, guiding individual product teams on how to best leverage ShureCloud services to enhance their product offerings efficiently.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate system status, technical trade-offs, and strategic direction to executive leadership and key internal stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 8+ years in Product Management, with significant experience (4+ years) focused on cloud/SaaS platforms, IoT systems, or complex connected product ecosystems.
  • Technical Product Leadership: Demonstrated experience in a role requiring deep technical judgment and the ability to define highly technical system capabilities for internal consumption (internal customer focus).
  • System Definition Competency: Proven ability to define the functional and non-functional requirements (scalability, reliability, security) for integrated systems encompassing device, edge, and cloud components.
  • Architectural Fluency: While this is notan implementation role, the candidate must possess the fluency to engage in deep technical discussions with engineering architects about microservices, APIs, data ingestion, and cloud security principles.
  • Transformation Focus: Prior experience driving significant organizational change, particularly leading to the technical transition of a hardware-focused company toward a connected/system development model.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and non-technical business executives.

Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Shure will not sponsor applicants for this position for work visas.
