Skills and Competencies

  • 5+ years of demonstrable experience in data management and data transformation roles 
  • Basic proficiency with CoPilot Full, Claude, Power Automate, Alteryx and Low Code-No Code tools 
  • Experience using Master Data Management and Data Governance tools such as dBeaver, Access, Collibra, Purview 
  • Proficient in SQL (required) 
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies 
  • Knowledge of database architecture, data lineage mapping, data governance reporting, SQL 
  • Experience working with unstructured data 
  • Experience working with customers and/or users to understand data requirements and use cases 
  • Proficient communication skills to simplify complex themes 
  • Cypress (Optional) 

Responsibilities

As part of Moody’s Investors Service (MIS), our Ratings Platform Development team leads the design and adoption of new processes and data workflows that enable digital transformation and scalability across the organization globally. 

We are hiring a Sr. Data Management Analyst to assist in design, development and implementation of data improvement initiatives across the Ratings organization. They will work closely with cross-functional teams and data managers that adopt Agile operating methods. They will develop data lineage flows, design databases and data taxonomies, define data elements and data concepts for end-users, rationalise database content and support data migration into a modern, cloud-based data infrastructure and establish a data storage plan. They will support multi-year initiatives to transform Ratings and Research’s (R&R) work processes to support digitization and adoption of generative AI technologies. These include the full range of workflow, rating and research, ESG and other activities. These initiatives are directly tied to firm-wide objectives and would involve regular exposure to senior leaders around the business and technology improvements.  

The Sr. Data Management Analyst role will assist in defining, managing and governing the data used across several product workflows, acting with support from senior data team members. Core accountabilities include: 

  • Investigate, define, and continuously improve data taxonomies and attributes to support digital solutions and enhance workflow datasets 
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts for R&R Data Readiness projects to ensure scalability across the organization, ensuring successful implementation and functionality. 
  • Partner with technology, data, and process teams to develop next-generation data structures, including gathering requirements, supporting data migration, and establishing governance practices. 
  • Create and implement machine learning models to efficiently process and analyse large datasets, prioritizing enhanced accuracy and scalability. 
  • Identify and assess new and third-party data sources for integration into business workflows, ensuring data relevance and quality. 
  • Engage with key partners to migrate data to target state solutions, map end-to-end data lineage, and oversee the transition from legacy systems to modern infrastructure. 
  • Design and monitor key performance indicators for data processes and quality, and report on performance to suggest improvements. 
  • Uphold framework for governing data changes and align efforts with partner teams to manage change effectively. 
  • Challenge existing processes and innovate data solutions, metrics, and sources using AI and Low Code-No Code tools; serve as the key contact for database reporting and analysis, supporting agile development and internal requests. 
  • Data Architecture practical knowledge 
  • Ensure Data Readiness: Develop and implement processes to validate, clean, and prepare data, guaranteeing its accuracy, consistency, and availability for analytics and decision-making activities. 

About the team

The Ratings Process and Data team drives data and process design and change management for scalable digitization across critical business initiatives including workflows, analytics and ESG services. 

The group works collectively with stakeholders in other lines of business, Product Management, User Experience designers, developers, control functions and others to document current state processes, define critical requirements for improvement, identify and map required data elements and lead simplification initiatives. The group works in an Agile, product-centric operating model that delivers digital solutions and incremental improvements to process, data, and user tools. 

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $103,800.00 - $150,600.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
