Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the design, roll-out and governance of financial solutions, including:
- Participates in formulating and setting strategic direction for the process, organization and architecture covering Finance across Citi businesses, products, functions and locations
- Assists in setting business and information architecture standards for Finance
- Plays a part in settling and operating necessary forums and frameworks to establish and govern policies and starts for global Finance processes
- Participates in assessing and incorporating changing business, regulatory and market information needs into finance processes and applications
- Identifies and resolves problems using autonomous judgment.
- Implements work flow or process change and redesign, and uses a thorough knowledge of the specific function.
- Accountable for regular reporting or process administration as "owner".
- Assists in the management of one or more processes, reports, procedures or products.
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- 2-5+ years of experience
- Proficient knowledge of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the goals of the area
- Has working knowledge of industry practices and standards.
- Bachelors degree
- Centralized and standardized accounting into global accounting hubs and sub-ledgers
- Implementation of a standard sub ledger and general ledger for the firm
- Replacement of Citi’s current Operating and Reporting ledgers, including those embedded in bank-in-a-box platforms
- Automation and streamlining of accounting and ledger processes and controls
- Address source data quality issues impacting ledgers in partnership with enterprise-wide data priorities
- Align contractual and instrument level balances and positions with financial balances
The role will sit within the Process, Controls and Target Operating Model workstream and will support the transformation to Citi's Oracle / SaaS platform, including the design and implementation of the process and controls for accounting, ledger, and close. Key Responsibilities:
- Work on the implementation of strategic ledger processes and controls, in close partnership with the program workstreams and business taxonomy process owners
- Review and ongoing maintenance of process & control documentation
- Review and understand functional changes in the strategic ledger business taxonomy and assess impact on process & control documentation
- Work with stakeholders and workstream owners to create operating manuals ready for UAT testing and go live
- Supporting the preparation and execution of testing for UAT
- Supporting training and implementation readiness
- Oversight of the completion and progress of the workstream’s deliverables against target dates
- Identify opportunities to improve process & control documentation through a close partnership with stakeholders in Technology, Operations, and controllers
- 2-5 years of relevant experience with global corporations and financial services experience gained in Banking, Financial Services or in an associated consulting role
- Ability to build strong partnerships
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to take high level direction and proactively move forward on next steps
- Growth mindset, seeking and implementing feedback and maintaining flexibility to pivot and course correct as needed
- Strong oral and written communications skills in English
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for reporting and PowerPoint for presentation development
- Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) enabled Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) ledger platform a plus (Oracle, SAP, Workday)
- Finance, accounting, controller related experience a plus
- Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, Engineering, or related field is required
