- Proven credit/risk assessment experience including strong financial analysis experience, likely to be gained from a financial institution, regulator or public accounting firm.
- Understanding of European banks and their regulatory environment and the key issues affecting these markets/the main players and key industry drivers
- Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing with some public speaking experience
- Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills
- Nordic language skills would be highly beneficial; fluency in English is essential.
- Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to multi-task and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can improve processes and drive efficiencylls
- Master's in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent advanced qualification
- CFA/CAIA professional qualification would be highly beneficial
- Ensure rating accuracy for assigned credits and apply Moody’s methodologies consistently. Lead the analysis for assigning new ratings to deposits and debt issued by bank and other financial institutions.
- Insightful and rigorous analysis. Participate in Rating Committees for own credits and sector, contribute to the analytical discussion. Collaborate with teams across Moody’s Ratings to drive excellence in our credit analysis.
- Effective communication with financial markets and issuers. Support market engagement by responding to investor queries, leading issuer meetings, and by building external relationships with a range of market participants.
- Demonstrate thought leadership. Contribute to research by identifying emerging credit themes and drafting insightful analysis. Represent Moody’s Ratings as a thought leader by presenting at industry conferences, webinars and podcasts.
- Accelerate innovation to drive insight and impact. Participate in project work as a subject matter expert and actively use AI and digital tools to improve processes and analytical output.
Empower people & evolve our culture. Coach, mentor and develop more junior ratings analysts, supporting their professional growth and credit skills development.
Our banks rating team is responsible for delivering high-quality credit ratings and research, enhancing market transparency, supporting investor decision-making, and expanding our brand as a trusted source of credit insight.
