Work You'll Do

Our Working Capital specialists work with lenders, investors, owners and management to revitalize businesses, protect value and drive sustainable growth. As a Senior Manager within Working Capital, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution, identifying key business issues to improve their financial position, managing their cash, liquidity and working capital, mitigate risks, and driving meaningful change. This is done through a number of ways including but not limited to:
  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients
  • Manage data, curate insights, and deliver robust analytics to highlight key business issues and inform the project team and client where potential areas improvement exist
  • Directly engage with companies to identify improvement opportunities and help clients implement changes to their processes and policies to achieve sustainable cash flow improvement.
  • Plan and lead interviews with clients to understand their complex financial and operational situations, as well as understanding of the key operational performance drivers of a business
  • Effectively lead and motivate engagement teams in the US and nationally in assessing a business' current business policies and procedures, including leading projects, overseeing and reviewing the day-to-day work of junior staff with oversight from project leadership
  • Create client-ready deliverables and prepare Executive style PowerPoint reports using critical thinking skills and strong communication
  • Business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients by building strong relationships with clients and identify areas to expand our business
  • Participate in market-building activities, including preparation of proposal / pitch and marketing materials
  • Assist with the building of internal tools and templates to support our client service offerings
  • Provide support, guidance and vision in improving and enhancing the team's practice delivery methodology
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, building relationships and achieving results without a direct reporting relationship
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team's technical acumen, as well as train, coach, and supervise staff
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your brand

The Team
Our Performance Improvement & Restructuring (PI&R) practice develops and leads enterprise-level Board and C-suite agendas for clients across the performance spectrum-healthy, underperforming, and distressed-to enhance margins, address financial challenges, and optimize cash flow in support of critical transformation initiatives.

Deloitte's PI&R practitioners help our clients' management teams in a number of ways-one of them being through our Working Capital team who plays the crucial role in maintaining liquidity and ensuring sustainable growth for our clients. Our dedicated restructuring and working capital experts offer comprehensive services designed to optimize financial health and enhance operational efficiency. This team provides a solution to clients by focusing on cash generation using specialized tools and methodologies, to help them more efficiently generate cash. Their approach integrates advanced analytics and industry best practices to streamline your cash flow, reduce operational inefficiencies, and improve overall financial performance. By focusing on key areas such as receivables, payables, and inventory management, they help our clients unlock hidden value and drive long-term success. Our practice also works with companies, acquirers and private equity firms, to identify value creation opportunities that exist within companies or a potential acquisition candidate to improve business process performance and release excess cash from working capital. Whether it involves debt restructuring, asset divestitures, or operational realignment, Deloitte's working capital professionals' goal is to help our clients emerge stronger.

Qualifications


Required:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of related work experience with an established consulting firm or an internal consulting role at a large corporation leading and delivering successful business process improvement projects, with subject matter expertise in one or multiple of the following areas:
    • Finance process improvement including billing optimization, collections and dispute management and shared service optimization
    • Supply Chain Optimization, including sales and operations planning, manufacturing operational efficiency, logistics and fulfillment
    • Procurement, including supplier negotiation, supplier relationship management, category planning, strategic sourcing and vendor audits
    • Operational cost reduction
    • Process benchmarking and maturity assessments
  • 10+ years of experience in business process improvement and experience (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean)
  • 10+ years delivering projects that cover the full life cycle of assessment, design and implementation support
  • 10+ years of experience leading a working capital improvement project identifying and implementing working capital opportunities at commercial clients and for portfolio companies of Private Equity clients
  • 10+ years of experience and knowledge in extracting, mining and visualizing big data sets (i.e. MS Excel & Access / SQL / Alteryx / Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:
  • Prior corporate finance or restructuring experience strongly preferred
  • Professional certification, designation and/or qualification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), Certified Insolvency, P.Eng, Lean Six Sigma, PMP), Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) or demonstrated progress towards such certifications
  • Experience gained within another large professional services organization
