    Responsibilities:

    Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Lead team with technical guidance along with effort estimations for each task. Recommend software upgrades for customers’ existing programs and systems. Work with architects to define architecture models and design critical integrations. Responsibilities include analysis of requirements, enhancements and provide the support of Autodesk applications. Analyze existing service implementation and providing suggestions to reduce user response time of services by applying optimized solutions. Involved in coding, integration, unit testing, automation testing and performance testing. Actively involved in the administrative/deployment activities of Autodesk applications on application Server.  Involved functional specification documents, design specification documents, user requirement analysis, and test plans. Analyze users’ needs and then design, test, and develop software to meet those needs. Allocation of tasks to team members and mentoring the team. Interpret and translate business needs to technical requirements and accurate estimates. Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance. Contribute to risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture. Coordinate installation of software system. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. Determine system performance standards. Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, or security needs to determine hardware configuration. Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Supervise and assign work to programmers, designers, technologists, technicians, or other engineering or scientific personnel. Supervise the work of programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and scientific personnel. Collaborate with peer organizations, DevOps, Support organizations on technical issues and provide guidance. Focus on scalability, security and availability of all applications and processes. Contribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software. Contribute to technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing time, resource, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirements. Some telecommuting is permitted.

    Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 5 years of work experience in the job offered or in a software developer-related occupation. Some telecommuting is permitted.

    Special Requirements: The position also requires at least 4 years of experience with the following skills:

    • JavaScript & related frameworks, Java/J2ee, AWS and Databases.

    • Full stack development and driving continuous improvement of software quality, customer experience, and maintainability of products/features.

    • Collaborating with stakeholders to imagine, design, develop, test, and launch scalable and maintainable software that impacts our customers both internally and externally

    • Clarifying  technical requirements, assessing development estimates and apply a broad range of design approaches.

    • Documentation, unit testing, code reviews, working with various testing frameworks, continuous integration & deployment in pipelines and containers.

    • Implementing improvements to development and testing processes.

    • Mentoring teammates junior Developers.

    • Agile methodologies and software development processes.

    Salary transparency 

    Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $152,131 - $194,600 / year. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
