Skills and Competencies
- Strong virtualization engineering background with experience managing hypervisors for large-scale enterprise environments
- Virtual machine management across Linux and Windows environments
- Deep infrastructure expertise with hands-on experience in public and private cloud environments
- Experience leading high-performing engineering teams and providing technical management oversight
- Knowledge of VMware with ability to lead efforts transitioning to Nutanix technologies
- Ability to drive IT transformation with a focus on automation and modernized service delivery models
- Experience developing automated and self-service IT delivery solutions
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use

Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree

Responsibilities
Lead a cloud engineering team to modernize infrastructure, automate service delivery, and advance virtualization and cloud platform capabilities.

- Lead, coach, and develop high-performing senior engineers
- Lead the virtualization, infrastructure and operating system strategy across our hybrid cloud environments
- Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations based on cost, risk, and scalability
- Oversee cloud infrastructure modernization across public and private cloud environments
- Guide the transition from VMware to Nutanix platforms
- Create automation strategies that enable IT as a service
- Implement self-service delivery models to improve operational efficiency
- Partner with stakeholders to drive transformation within the Technology Services Engineering group
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and security across cloud and virtualization platforms
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and operational excellence

Operations & Reliability
- Ensure availability, performance, and security of virtualized environments
- Oversee patching, upgrades, hardware refreshes, and capacity planning
- Drive root-cause analysis and remediation for incidents and outages
- Establish and maintain operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting

Automation & Optimization
- Promote infrastructure automation and self-service using tools such as scripting tools, configuration automation platforms, and cloud management platforms
- Improve provisioning speed, consistency, and reliability through infrastructure-as-code practices
- Optimize platform cost through right-sizing, consolidation, and license management

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with storage, network, cloud, security, and site reliability engineering teams
- Partner with application owners to align platform capabilities with workload needs
- Support audit, risk, and compliance activities as required

About the Team
Our Technology Services Engineering (TSE) team is responsible for delivering reliable, scalable, and forward-looking infrastructure solutions that support enterprise-wide technology needs. We modernize platforms, enable automation, and drive cloud transformation to enhance how Moody’s delivers technology services. By joining our team, you will contribute to impactful work across cloud innovation, infrastructure modernization, and AI-supported engineering practices that accelerate operational excellence.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $151,000.00 - $216,800.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
