Job Description

The selected candidate will join the Compliance Technology Operations team within the Global Ethics & Compliance Organization, supporting the Commercial & Money Movement Solutions (CMS) Business. This team is central to all technology development related to Compliance requirements and the enablement of new products. In the role of Technical Product Manager, the individual will serve as a critical liaison between various teams across Visa, effectively bridging technology, product, and business functions. The primary responsibilities will revolve around Compliance requirements for AML (including Screening, Customer Due Diligence [CDD], and Transaction Monitoring), as well as Real Time Monitoring, Data, and Reporting for Money movement solutions.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong work ethic, leadership abilities, sound judgment, and effective time management skills for prioritizing tasks. Success in this role requires thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. It is essential for the candidate to develop a solid understanding of Visa’s Compliance program and use this expertise to formulate requirements for new features and enhance the capabilities of compliance systems. The CTO team provides support to multiple business lines and products across Visa, which necessitates strong collaboration, relationship-building skills, and outstanding leadership qualities to foster partnerships with engineering, operations, product, compliance, and other teams throughout the organization.

Key Competencies and Skills

The successful candidate should possess a passion for innovation in payments, technology, and product and project management. Attention to detail and the ability to drive delivery within a complex environment and critical timeline is crucial. A solid technical background is required, including database query skills and data analytics expertise to support incident management activities. Additional responsibilities include calculating KPIs for large-scale platforms, addressing support requests and incidents, and managing the remediation process. Program management skills are also essential, as the candidate will be expected to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate cross-functional teams, track progress against milestones, and ensure that all initiatives are delivered on time and within scope. The ability to manage resources, budgets, and risks, while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders, is key to successfully delivering complex compliance technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

This role involves collaborating with Product and Technology leadership to define and design Compliance technology platforms, driving strategy and feature development for Compliance tools.

  • Responsibilities include improving Compliance systems, integrating them across the organization, updating platforms for new regulations, automating processes, and optimizing user interfaces for internal stakeholders.
  • The Technical Product Manager is tasked with translating complex product requirements into detailed technical specifications, collaborating closely with compliance operations, engineering and QA teams to ensure the development of robust and reliable Compliance tools.
  • Beyond product development responsibilities, the Technical Product Manager is responsible for comprehensive program management. This role encompasses oversight of multiple simultaneous projects, coordination of cross-functional teams, monitoring progress against established milestones, and ensuring deliverables are achieved within timelines and scope. The manager is required to effectively manage project plans, resources, and risks, while maintaining clear, timely communication with stakeholders. By applying program management best practices, the manager facilitates the successful execution of complex compliance technology initiatives and promotes alignment with organizational objectives.
  • A core aspect of this role involves creating and maintaining comprehensive product and project roadmaps that not only illustrate current trajectories but also anticipate future needs, all while ensuring alignment with the broader business strategy.
  • The position requires hands-on involvement in end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT), thorough production validation to ensure system integrity, and the delivery of engaging demo presentations to various stakeholders. Managing compliance systems in higher environments, such as staging and production, is essential to support scalability and reliability.
  • Success in this role demands proven experience with Agile methodologies, modern product management, and program management practices, enabling the candidate to adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Minimal supervision is expected, with the autonomy to make impactful decisions and drive results. Hybrid employees are required to balance in-office and remote work, typically spending at least half of their time onsite in accordance with business demands.
  • Overall, the Technical Product Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Compliance platforms not only meet current regulatory and business requirements but also anticipate future challenges, driving continuous improvement and innovation throughout the organization.
