Skills and Competencies

• 5+ years of experience in software development using modern programming languages such as Python, Go, Rust, or Java.
• Hands-on experience in cybersecurity, including security automation, orchestration frameworks, and IT operations.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, containerization, event-driven systems, and distributed API design.
• Familiarity with LLM architecture, prompt engineering, vector databases, and graph databases in security workflows.
• Experience with secure infrastructure design and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Excellent communication skills, mentoring experience, and ability to influence engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset to address complex challenges effectively.

Education

• BS or BA degree or relevant certifications, preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent. 

Responsibilities

The Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and validating secure architectures across enterprise systems. This position requires strong software development experience, deep technical expertise, and the ability to integrate security into complex, distributed environments. The ideal candidate combines hands-on coding skills with architectural vision, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding code across multiple languages (JavaScript, Python, SQL) to troubleshoot, validate, and secure solutions.
• Develop and secure APIs and system integrations using tools like Postman, and design secure architectures for distributed, multi-tiered applications.
• Define AI system architecture, including model development, training pipelines, data flows, and deployment strategies, while ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
• Implement security controls in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI integration and drive value-added solutions.
• Mentor team members on AI best practices, architecture, and emerging technologies, conducting technical reviews for quality, maintainability, security, and compliance.
• Partner with IT, Security, and business application teams to ensure seamless integration of security and AI systems while advocating for responsible AI use.
• Apply expertise in tools and frameworks like SIEM, EDR, SOAR, CSPs, or MDR solutions to enhance security and operational outcomes.

About the team

Moody’s Security Architecture team, drives secure-by-design engineering across cloud and distributed environments. The group builds scalable architectures, hardens APIs and microservices, and integrates modern AI practices to enhance security and automation. Engineers collaborate closely with IT, Security, and product teams to deliver resilient solutions, implement cloud and container security controls, and improve detection and response using SIEM/EDR/SOAR. It’s a high‑impact, engineering‑forward team where strong communicators influence technical direction and mentor others.
