OnBrand, the American Express in-house creative agency, is undergoing an exciting expansion. The Copywriter will be responsible for developing compelling creative solutions and infusing our brand voice into across digital customer experiences, servicing communications, and more. This position will report into either the Associate Creative Director or Sr. Copywriter.
Responsibilities:
- Expertly leverage our brand voice and Global Brand Strategy to build trust and affinity with Card Members and prospects.
- Craft clear, compelling, and persuasive customer-facing copy across high-priority American Express marketing journeys (i.e., emails, landing pages, direct mail, out-of-home, etc.).
- Provide creative oversight and copy direction for Junior Copywriters to ensure consistency in brand voice.
- Clearly and confidently present and defend creative work internally and to clients.
- Be a passionate advocate for the customer, providing creative guidance to internal partners and helping to build a strong culture that values creative thought leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in creative writing, English, or related humanities or liberal arts field.
- 3-5+ years of professional copywriting experience, preferably at a leading creative agency or in-house brand.
- Solid copywriting skills with strong copy editing and proofreading acumen.
- Comfort working across multiple projects and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate with internal partners, including designers, project managers, and account leads.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work with a Project Management tool (e.g., Workfront).
- Familiarity with AP Style.
