At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities. We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we’re advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that not only understands complexity but responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping our clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.

If you are excited about this opportunity but do not meet every single requirement, please apply! You still may be a great fit for this role or other open roles. We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity.

Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum 10 years’ enterprise sales or direct client coverage and relationship management of a broad spectrum of institutional clients: Tier 1 banks, central banks, sovereign wealth funds, superannuation, insurance, asset managers, hedge funds, and bank treasuries.
  • Familiarity with APAC and global markets, reflecting cross-border client engagement and product delivery.
  • Exceptional C-level relationship-building, consultative selling and contract negotiation skills, complemented by independent thought leadership and advisory sales expertise. Demonstrates the ability to generate impactful ideas for clients, influencing outcomes at the highest level.
  • Strong knowledge of credit, risk, capital‑markets or regulatory workflows—and the ability to translate APRA/ASIC requirements into Moody’s solutions.
  • Demonstrates a strong track record in building and leading high-performing sales teams, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration. Applies strategic planning, pipeline management and disciplined execution to consistently meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication—listening, presenting and writing—and the confidence to influence senior external and internal stakeholders.
  • High initiative, resilience and the ability to work independently while fostering teamwork in a matrix environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, applied finance, economics or a related field (post‑graduate finance or risk qualification advantageous).

Responsibilities

  • Own and expand relationships with Australia’s Tier 1 banks and a broad spectrum of institutional clients—including central banks, sovereign wealth funds, superannuation, insurance, asset managers, hedge funds and bank treasuries—engaging board and C-suite stakeholders and setting multi-year account strategies aligned to client priorities.
  • Retain and grow revenue by cross-selling and up-selling the full Moody’s Analytics suite, leveraging advisory sales and innovative solutions across credit, ESG, KYC/AML, regulatory reporting, data and analytics.
  • Build, lead and empower high-performing sales teams, fostering talent development and cross-functional collaboration with Product, Specialists, Finance and Legal to drive complex sales cycles, identify new use cases, negotiate commercial terms and close enterprise agreements.
  • Partner with trading, DCM and global product heads to position Moody’s insights in the context of local and regional regulatory and industry trends, including automation, climate risk and digitised credit workflows.
  • Champion documentation and process institutionalisation (ISDA, CSA, GMRA, CDEA) to deepen client relationships and facilitate multi-product up-sell.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting and client feedback to senior leadership, surfacing cross-business leads and supporting business growth objectives.
  • Participate in management and risk committees to support governance, conduct and best execution standards.
  • Travel (~30 %) within Australia and, when required, to regional hubs to strengthen senior relationships and align global strategy.
