Skills and Competencies

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
  • Current hands‑on coding and expertise in PySpark, Python and SQL
  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Lambda and Glue
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (preferred)
  • Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark and Kafka (preferred)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques (preferred)
  • Intermediate level understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use. 


Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems on AWS
  • Implement data integration and ETL processes using PySpark, Python, SQL and Kafka
  • Optimize and tune SQL queries for performance and efficiency
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through testing and validation
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data solutions
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability and performance
  • Stay current on industry trends and technologies in data engineering and cloud computing

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $116,500.00-$169,00.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
