About the Team:
As a member of the Medidata Global Education leadership team, your mission is to lead the successful operation of client study protocol and enablement Instructor-Led Training - producing quality training materials and exceptional training experiences for clinical trial operations personas responsible for study fulfillment and associated patient interactions.
You will drive strategy; partnerships; the definition and execution of core and day-to-day fulfillment; and people management for a team of six-eight Training Specialists who author and deliver this specialized training at global Investigator Meetings (live and virtually).
The ideal candidate brings solid experience in the clinical trial operations industry; strong expertise in clinical trial personas training and enablement; advocacy for patients; and a passion for partnering across Medidata to enable our clients to deliver life-saving therapies and treatments to waiting patients.
Responsibilities:
As a strategic leader, you will: Manage the scope, scale, and successful execution of the team's training operation
- Partner with Medidata Product and Professional Services teams to strategically design and position training within Medidata enablement and engagement contexts
- Train and enable the team to develop quality training materials and exceptional training experiences, positioning the team's contributions for maximum value-add
- Establish and scale a project framework that ensures that all deliverables are tracked; documentation is current; and a continuous improvement loop is actioned
- Proactively manage issues and risks driving appropriate resolution and mitigation
- Establish measurable definitions of successful outcomes and maintain client training satisfaction
- Manage all communication and client-enablement actions with timely and satisfactory results
- Ensure compliance with Medidata's standard project management methodologies; quality management systems; and all corporate and industry standards and requirements
- Support development of associated training sales and fulfillment actions
- Design and deliver workshops; lead client meetings; conduct follow-ups to ensure successful training outcomes
- Collaborate with other Global Education and Medidata leaders to drive targeted outcomes and support achievement of financial targets
- Report targeted metrics, measures, and continuous improvement details on a regular basis to executive leadership
- Hire, train, and continuously enable the professional development of six-eight Training Specialist team members
- Manage work assignments to meet a high demand for global training services and leveling work across resources to enable resources' continuous learning
- Document and share operational processes and best practices
- Establish the framework and guidelines for trainers' successful, simultaneous execution of one or more large, complex projects
Qualifications:
- Possess a solid understanding of clinical research (pharma/device/biotech) and of clinical research SaaS technology
- Working independently in an advisory capacity
- Ability to anticipate and mitigate complex issue and risks thus minimizing escalations
- Ability to mentor and manage other team members and serve as a team leader
- Ability to identify and suggest improvements which increase the value proposition for Medidata and the client
- Knowledge of Medidata (or similar) products commensurate with requirements of the specific role
- Demonstrate strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills
- Exhibit time management skills along with strong collaboration and teamwork
- Experience in leading project teams and meeting project timelines
- Self-motivated and able to assume responsibility in a professional manner
- Demonstrate strong computer skills
- Experience with the MS Office suite and/or other current software technologies
- Experience with creating and delivering presentations, as well as many forms of written documentation (e.g. manuals, guides)
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a Life Sciences, Biomedical, or Clinical Trial Operations discipline with technical training and/or Analytics expertise
- 5-7 years experience in clinical/biomedical and/ or software development environment preferred
- Ability to deliver training as backup or in overflow demand scenarios - onsite (domestic or international), up to 20% of scope
As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $102,750 to $137,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
