Skills and competencies
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Specialist or in a similar role
- Demonstrated expertise in Relationships Data/Company Data/Orbis
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, Excel, and Power tools
- Business-fluent English; additional languages are an advantage
Education
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Business, or a related field
Responsibilities
The Senior Data Specialist is responsible for performing data maintenance and research related to relationships and company structures data, with a strong focus on data quality and resolution of complex cases. The role independently manages data and client inquiries and contributes subject matter expertise to support cross-functional initiatives. In addition, the Senior Data Specialist supports team effectiveness by providing guidance and knowledge sharing to less experienced team members.
- Maintain and oversee historical relationships and company structure data including complex ownership structures
- Independently manage and respond to data and client inquiries
- Support internal and external users in accessing and understanding relationships data
- Drive improvement to data processes and procedures to enhance data quality, speed, and accuracy
- Ensure high standards of data quality, consistency, and accuracy
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional data projects
- Support and mentor Data Specialists, sharing best practice and expertise

The Relationships Team, part of the Data Estate, is responsible for maintaining and supporting high‑quality company, ownership, and relationship data that underpins Moody’s core data platforms and products. The team contributes to Moody’s by ensuring accurate and well‑structured relationship data, providing reliable ownership and company structure insights across datasets, and supporting data quality and consistency at scale.
