Program Manager, Accessibility Compliance

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accessibility Compliance Program Manager to join our dynamic Accessibility team. The ideal candidate will possess strong project and program management skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a passion for navigating ambiguity. This role requires expertise in Azure DevOps (ADO), a strong bias for action, and a robust sense of ownership.


In this role, you will be a trusted, respected partner working with Product, Engineering, and Design leaders to ensure our products and websites meet established conformance timelines. This program will have visibility at all levels, from senior executives to individual project teams. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical coordination abilities, and effective stakeholder management.

About the Role:

As an Accessibility Compliance Program Manager, you will: 

Lead key aspects of a large, highly visible, complex program while working with management at all levels to ensure digital accessibility and compliance with relevant laws and standards. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Manage communications with Single Threaded Owners and product teams by facilitating meetings, providing updated reporting and tracking requests made of the program
  • Own Compliance Plans and Reporting, including governance over the fields in ADO to ensure clean and accurate data
  • Lead resolution of complex obstacles with leadership at all levels; anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, articulate risks and trade-offs, and recommend prioritization based on a balance of business risk, needs, constraints, and impact 
  • Collaborate with the Reporting team on ways to ensure Reporting is accurate and current on compliance, and that reported bugs display properly
  • Create, maintain, and disseminate the program framework, processes, and templates, ensuring all program-related documentation is maintained and kept current  
  • Support collaboration across Design, Engineering, Product Management, and other business teams to develop and manage end-to-end Accessibility project plans while ensuring on-time delivery within each phase 
  • Support and execute a comprehensive communication plan, including establishing channels, meeting cadence, reporting/status updates, and processes with key stakeholders; provide key data to the Director of Accessibility and others to support executive reporting
  • Work with the General Counsel's Office (GCO) to discuss issues of scope and provide information to ensure they have what they need to provide legal guidance
  • Partner with teams to create an environment of trust by establishing a feedback loop to improve how we work 
  • Implement repeatable, scalable processes that result in an efficient and effective program, leveraging AI and automation

About You:

You’re a fit for the role of Accessibility Compliance Program Manager, if you have/are :

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of successful project or program management experience 
  • Strong verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Power BI (or equivalent applications) 
  • Expertise in Azure DevOps (ADO) for project management and tracking 
  • Demonstrated execution of project management methodology 
  • Strong understanding of SDLC in waterfall and Agile projects 
  • Knowledge of WCAG guidelines and other relevant accessibility standards
  • Hands-on AI experience with ability to analyze existing manual processes, identify automation opportunities, and implement AI-powered solutions to scale operations efficiently
  • Experience mentoring and providing guidance to team members 
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills 
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing requests simultaneously under high pressure and tight deadlines
  • Resilience in the face of changing circumstances and unclear expectations 
  • Ability to partner effectively in a highly matrixed organization 
  • Knowledge in creating and implementing scalable processes using AI and/or automation

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Project management or Agile certification (e.g. Certified ScrumMaster, Professional ScrumMaster, PMP, PMI-ACP or similar) 
  • Basic understanding of UX design principles, methodologies, and best practices. 
  • Product development, web, mobile or multi-channel experience

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $100,100 USD - $185,900 USD. For Ontario, Canada, the base compensation range for this role is $108,000 CAD - $158,000 CAD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
