The Marketing Director will lead the marketing efforts of the Optum Coding Intelligence business within the Optum Insight business unit. This role is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, revenue growth and retention. This role will work closely with business unit leadership, sales, operations, and creative services to ensure success. We are seeking a leader who has a solid background in B2B marketing and a proven ability to scale growth in a competitive market.
This role will help identify, evaluate and shape opportunities while taking the lead on strategy, execution and team management to drive growth for the Optum Coding Intelligence business.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborate with business leaders to define short- and long-term goals for marketing performance
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with business goals
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities
- Engage and manage aligned marketing agencies and other service firms within relationship framework
- Brand and Content Development:
- Oversee the creation (or sourcing) of compelling content, messaging and branding to position the website as an industry leader
- Manage the development of high-impact marketing materials including website content, multi-channel campaigns, case studies and webinars and events
- Demand Generation and Campaign Management:
- Design and execute lead-generation strategies to drive qualified traffic and conversions
- Manage multi-channel marketing campaigns including paid search, social media, email and SEO/SEM efforts
- Implement cross-sell campaigns
- Implement account-based marketing (ABM) initiatives to engage high-value prospects
- Ecommerce Optimization:
- In partnership with the eCommerce Marketing Manager, optimize the ecommerce platform for customer acquisition and retention
- In partnership with the eCommerce Marketing Manager, Product and the UX team, monitor and improve the user experience, website performance and conversion rates
- Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of AEM and Power BI dashboards specific to campaigns and other key client initiatives
- Measure and analyze campaign performance using KPIs and marketing analytics tools
- Regularly report on ROI, campaign performance, web traffic and other relevant metrics to leadership
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Skilled leadership of cross-functional marketing/growth initiatives in a matrixed reporting environment
- Collaborate on the development, mentorship and management of a high-performing marketing team
- Collaborate with sales, product, digital and technology teams to ensure alignment across the organization
- Provide oversight and compliance of Coding Intelligence marketing best practices within the broader Optum marketing organization
Demonstrated Skills:
- Solid healthcare marketing experience
- Expertise in digital marketing, SEO/SEM, email automation and ABM
- Excellent leadership, communication and project management skills
- Ability to collaborate across the organization to accomplish goals
- Knowledge of sales processes and methodology
- Solid presentation skills
- Knowledge and proficiency in the best practices and ethics of Generative AI for Marketing
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 products and tools, including Excel analytics methods

Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience developing and managing complex marketing campaigns
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in the U.S. healthcare industry
- Experience with Workfront, Airtable, Adobe Marketo (or equivalent), and Salesforce
- Knowledge of the U.S. medical coding and healthcare informatics ecosystem

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
