Forma is building a new foundational capability from the ground up. We call it Forma Compass. 
 

Compass will define how project direction is set, understood, and acted on in Forma. It is where goals, constraints, and desired outcomes are defined, clarified, and turned into shared, structured data that both people and systems can understand and act on. This capability does not exist today. You will help invent it. 
 

The AEC industry has powerful tools, but intent is still largely implicit and manual. The opportunity for an AI native, intent aware foundation has not yet been realized. Forma Compass is our attempt to explore what that could look like. 
 

We are looking for a Product Manager to lead the discovery, definition, and delivery of Forma Compass as a reusable capability across all AEC workflows. Compass is not a discipline specific tool. It is designed to support architects, engineers, planners, and other stakeholders by aligning everyone and everything around what success means for a project. 
 

In this role, you will work as part of a dedicated squad within Forma Design, partnering closely with Engineering and Design. You will operate at the intersection of user experience, system behavior, and AI enabled platform thinking, shaping how intent becomes data and how that data guides decisions across Forma.

Forma Compass will be built from the ground up as an AI native capability. It will be the place where project intent is not only captured, but actively shaped and clarified with the help of intelligent systems. 
 

Instead of goals living in documents, slides or informal conversations, Compass will help users define, refine and agree on goals and constraints throughout the project lifecycle. These intentions become structured, reusable project data that both people and systems can reason about as the project evolves. 
 

By making intent explicit and machine readable, Compass becomes the foundation for adaptive experiences in Forma. Authoring, analysis, optimization, and recommendations can be tailored in real time to what a team is trying to achieve at any given moment. 
 

Your work will establish the core layer that enables Forma to move from static, one size fits all tools to intent aware, AI driven workflows. This creates a continuous loop between intent, action, and result, allowing teams to learn, adjust, and make better decisions earlier in the design process. 

Lead discovery from first principles, with a strong focus on how users define goals, constraints, and success. Work directly with AEC professionals across disciplines to understand how intent is formed, negotiated, and used to make decisions. Explore problems and opportunities related to intent, alignment, and AI assisted decision making. Validate ideas through interviews, prototypes, experiments, and data. Ensure learning is continuous and informs what the team builds next. 

Translate validated insights into clear priorities and actionable direction for the squad. Partner with Design and Engineering to deliver high quality solutions iteratively. Maintain a strong connection between discovery and delivery so learning drives execution. 

Own the short to mid term product strategy for Compass within the squad’s scope. Clearly articulate why the team is focused on specific problems and how that work contributes to Forma’s broader strategy. Ensure Compass is designed as a reusable, platform level capability that enables AI driven experiences across Forma. 

Define clear, outcome oriented goals for the squad. Establish meaningful success metrics related to adoption, clarity of intent, quality of goals, decision quality, and downstream impact. Track progress using qualitative and quantitative insight and adjust direction as needed. 

Work closely with adjacent Forma teams to ensure Compass integrates naturally into end to end workflows. Make dependencies visible and manageable. Drive alignment around shared intent models and consistent system behavior across the platform. 

Own product decisions within the squad’s scope. Make trade offs explicit, incorporate input from stakeholders, and stand behind the decisions that shape product direction and value delivery. Take accountability for outcomes, not just output. 

Act as the primary representative for the Compass initiative in cross team forums and stakeholder discussions. Communicate progress, challenges, and learnings with clarity and transparency. Share insights broadly to support alignment and continuous improvement across the product area. 

• Three to seven years of experience in product management or a closely related role in B2B or SaaS products  

• Strong skills in customer discovery, problem framing, and experimentation  

• Experience working closely with Design and Engineering in empowered product teams  

• Comfort operating in ambiguity and building products from the ground up  

• Ability to think in systems, platforms, and AI enabled workflows  

• Strong communication and collaboration skills  

• Interest in AEC workflows, early stage design, and decision making under constraints  

• Experience with design, engineering, or planning tools is a plus but not required
