The Electrical Engineer will primarily support Engineering functions representing the whole life engineering process of our product line as a key team member. The applicant conducts research, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, and systems. Designs electrical products, equipment, and systems for primarily commercial, aerospace purposes.
This position will be an onsite position in Bohemia, NY.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for complex electrical designs, development, analysis, and test of electrical systems and circuits to meet detailed requirements within Lighting systems/Interiors including:
- Design products which incorporate AC-DC and/or DC-DC power generation/regulation, data transmission and distribution, control logic utilizing, CMOS, microprocessor, FPGA, ASIC, or similar software integrated systems with emphasis on power generation for LED applications, system level wiring, and servomechanisms. Includes circuit theory, system logic design and development, instrumentation, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, LEDs, and display techniques for product used on military and/or commercial aircraft applications.
- Development and modifications of electronic schematics, circuit board layouts, and electronic system designs for both new and legacy products while ensuring the designs meet or exceed functional objectives, are efficient, cost effective, and meet quality standards.
- Complete electrical design standard work activities, complete drawing and Printed wiring board designs as required and process through engineering change request and the change order process.
- Analyzes and evaluate electronic components, circuits designs, signal integrity, and timing. Assess components ensuring proper ratings and key parameters meet requirements.
- Interfaces with engineers, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders on engineering projects or products.
- Develops test procedures, test equipment, designs verification plans, and reports, to support product qualification for applicable aircraft standards.
Basic Qualifications
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of being awarded a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in LED lighting /LED power regulation.
- Knowledge of incandescent, Zenon Strobe, and Florescent lighting electrical design a plus.
- Specific knowledge in Power Electronics/Power distribution from 115VAC/400 Hz, 270VDC, or 28VDC.
- Extensive knowledge of schematic and board layout designs tools. Preferred Cadence, or Altium.
- Experience with Hardware/Software integration and troubleshooting
- Experience with analog and digital interfaces, electronic analysis techniques and laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzes, and other related test equipment
- Knowledge of DO-160, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 176,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
