About the Team:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Vice President of Professional Services, Data Experience to build, lead, and scale our high-impact data consulting and implementation practice. This executive role is responsible for the entire Professional Services (PS) lifecycle, ensuring our customers achieve maximum value from their data investments and our platform.

You are a "player-coach" at heart—a strategic leader who can command a room with a C-suite executive, a data-savvy expert who can guide a team through a complex analytics strategy, and a proven people manager who excels at mentoring and scaling a world-class team. You will own the P&L for the PS division, drive operational excellence, and be the executive face of our data services.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Define and execute the multi-year vision and strategy for the Data Experience Professional Services organization.
  • Develop a clear services-offering portfolio (e.g., implementation, data strategy, analytics consulting, governance workshops, custom dashboards) that aligns with our product and drives customer outcomes.
  • Act as the key executive stakeholder for our largest and most strategic clients, building relationships and serving as a trusted data advisor.
  • Partner with the C-suite and Product leadership to provide critical "voice of the customer" feedback, influencing the product roadmap based on field-level data insights.

2. Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse, global team of data consultants, solution architects, project managers, and analytics specialists.
  • Scale the organization by attracting, hiring, and retaining top-tier data and services talent.
  • Demonstrate proven people management excellence by fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Develop career paths, training programs, and a performance management framework to ensure team members are growing and succeeding.
  • Manage and develop other managers, building a strong leadership bench within the PS organization.

3. Operational & Financial Excellence

  • Assume full P&L responsibility for the Professional Services department, including revenue forecasting, margin attainment, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Drive operational rigor by optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as team utilization, project profitability, booking-to-billing ratios, and customer satisfaction (CSAT/NPS).
  • Standardize and scale delivery methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality engagements globally.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Solutions Engineering teams during the pre-sales cycle to scope projects, write SOWs, and ensure engagements are set up for success.

4. Service Delivery & Customer Success

  • Oversee the successful delivery of all client engagements, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to a high standard of quality.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for critical projects, acting as an escalation point to resolve complex client issues.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Success and Support teams to ensure a seamless post-implementation handover and a unified customer experience.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in technology, data, analytics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of direct people management experience, with a proven track record of building, scaling, and managing high-performing, customer-facing teams (including managing other managers).
  • 8+ years in a senior leadership role within a Professional Services, consulting, or customer success organization, preferably in a SaaS or data-focused company.
  • Demonstrable experience owning a P&L and managing the financial and operational metrics of a services business.
  • Deep Domain Expertise: Strong, hands-on understanding of the modern data ecosystem, including:
    • Cloud Data Platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift)
    • BI & Visualization Tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
    • Data Strategy, Data Governance, and Data Management principles.
  • Proven ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level, with a "roll-up-the-sleeves" mentality.
  • Exceptional executive presence, with outstanding communication and presentation skills, C-suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed startup environment.
  • Direct experience working for a "Big 4" or similar strategic data-consulting firm.
  • MBA or an advanced degree in a quantitative or technical field.
