Skills and Competencies
  • 7+ years of experience in a client-facing role within insurance, financial services, information services, or data analytics industries, preferably with exposure to software as a service (SaaS) solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders during complex sales cycles.
  • Strong commercial mindset and sales mentality, with the ability to lead solution-oriented sales discussions, align solutions to client needs, and drive the pre-sales process to win new customers.
  • Proven ability to analyze business processes and workflows to identify client pain points and map Moody’s solutions to specific business and risk management challenges.
  • Experience supporting complex sales cycles and technical sales of data-driven or workflow-based SaaS solutions, including managing demonstrations, proofs of concept, trials, and evaluations.
  • Interest in or experience with KYC, Sanctions Screening, Adverse Media, Supplier Risk, and Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) use cases within the insurance segment.
  • Interest in or experience with technologies such as Spark, SQL, or Python, particularly for understanding data inputs, analytical outputs, and workflow integration in pre-sales evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI-enabled tools such as copilots, automation, and advanced analytics can improve processes and drive efficiency.
  • Interest in exploring agentic AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management, governance, and ethical use.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Risk Management, or a related field is a plus.
Responsibilities
Drive the pre-sales process by aligning Moody’s insurance solutions to client needs through consultative engagement, technical expertise, and value-driven solution design.
  • Drive the pre-sales process with a focus on solution alignment through tailored demonstrations, proofs of concept, and trial evaluations.
  • Support sales colleagues by leading the pre-sales process from qualification through solution alignment, ensuring clear articulation of value throughout the sales cycle.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of client workflows, processes, and business requirements to identify pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Map Moody’s insurance solutions to client needs, ensuring a deep understanding of how products and workflows address KYC, Sanctions Screening, Adverse Media, Supplier Risk, and Third Party Risk Management challenges.
  • Demonstrate the value of Moody’s solutions through product demonstrations, proofs of concept, trial evaluations, and data-driven discussions reflecting real-world insurance use cases.
  • Work closely with product and technical teams to understand the architecture and capabilities of Moody’s offerings, facilitating effective and scalable solution design.
  • Design high-level solutions and discuss functional and technical alternatives with client stakeholders, including risk, underwriting, operations, and IT teams.
  • Ensure seamless integration and connectivity between Moody’s products and workflows to create a cohesive user experience for clients.
  • Partner with specialized technical and GenAI-focused teams to support pre-sales engagements involving AI-enabled analytics or automation.
  • Assist in proof-of-concept activities that include AI- or GenAI-enabled components by supporting data review, workflow alignment, and value articulation.
  • Act as a bridge between clients and product development teams, conveying structured feedback and insights to inform product enhancements and innovation.
  • Travel up to 30% as required.
About the Team
The Insurance Solutions Specialist team is a global, client-facing technical pre-sales group that partners closely with insurance sales teams to support the positioning and sale of advanced analytical and modeling solutions. The team brings deep domain and technical expertise to help clients understand complex risk topics, evaluate solution fit, and make informed decisions throughout the sales cycle.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $135,700.00 - $196,750.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
