Job Description

Visa Direct is a payment service that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants, and service providers) to facilitate money movement to Cards, Accounts and Wallets around the world.

This role will report into the Head of Visa Direct CEMEA and sit on Visa Direct CEMEA Leadership Team. The individual will manage solutioning aspects of Visa Direct supported by the distributed across CEMEA locations team members. This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a new ecosystem in the fast-moving world of payment and one of the key growth pillars in CEMEA business.

This role will be responsible for sales engineering and solutioning for the multi-million sales pipeline for Visa Direct services and ensure execution excellence partnering with the product and technology teams of the clients. This role provides expert advice to business leaders and technology teams who want to use Visa’s services – understanding the client’s business problem or market opportunity, showing them how Visa’s solutions work and what they do, and helping the client define the solution architecture of their products. This role will also be responsible for providing feedback to the Visa Direct commercialization and product teams based on interactions with the clients.

The candidate should not be afraid to get hands-on with technology teams or deep-dive into user flows with clients. In addition, he/she must be highly collaborative, bring a structured approach to client engagement and documentation, employ moderation and facilitation skills, have a passion for payments, and have an ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences. The role will require leading complex technical discussions and will span multiple teams, projects, geographic locations, and time zones.

Being a Team Leader, the candidate is responsible for implementing strategies that team members use to achieve a goal, delegating tasks based on each member's strengths and skills and offering the training necessary to complete certain tasks. They are also responsible for inspiring and motivating team members with regular encouragement, keeping the enthusiasm going by providing individualized coaching when needed.

Visa is looking for an experienced payments leader with an outstanding product and project management track record. This client experience-oriented role will be a unique combination of technology architecture and client facing relationship management skills. It is a fast paced, agile environment, so this person must be proactive and excel with internal and external partners to ensure we achieve our goals.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for sales engineering and solutioning aspects of Visa Direct business in CEMEA

  • Be a Team Leader and Change Agent, demonstrating Visa Leader’s Principles

  • Take clients through the onboarding cycle from solutioning to deployment, and commercial launch

  • Co-pitch and co-sell with VD sales teams, covering product, technology, and architecture aspects

  • Develop solutioning strategy for onboarding acceleration, ensuring high NPS and optimized time-to-production

  • Drive key workstreams for Visa Direct growth

  • Become the ultimate Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Visa Direct in CEMEA

  • Partner with cross functional partners on multiple streams (sales, commercialization, product, client support etc) across the region to ensure ultimate business success with our clients

  • Work with Client Services to handoff from solutioning to implementation and ensure well-run projects

  • Work with VD commercialization, product teams and operations to drive state of Issuer readiness, and state of client implementations and post-launch support

  • Responsible for running education as well as deep dive workshops with clients for developing money movement solutions

  • Lead solution architecture design discussions with clients and align with commercialization and product team as needed

  • Able to identify relevant solution architecture based on client problems as well as explain in details how Visa’s platfrom function

  • Coordinate resolution of issues and design of new solutions with the global product team

  • Track progress on projects’ implementations and act as first line of support for product related issues

  • Support management of project pipeline and driving the client engagements as per opportunities pipeline

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining client driven product requirements for CEMEA, and communicating priorities to global

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changes in roles and responsibilities

  • Demonstrate skills in conflict management and negotiation to achieve program goals and develop trust with stakeholders

  • Embrace teamwork while promoting a culture of openness and flexibility

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.  ​


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
12+ years of payments-related and leadership experience, including at least 5 years of experience leading product and technology teams. Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline is required. An MBA/MS is a plus.
Money movement industry knowledge is required: experience with push payments, real-time payments, remittances, and FI solutions – strongly preferred.
Creative Self-starter with a bias toward action and proven track record for successfully developing, building, launching and commercializing technology products that delight customers
Direct exposure to digital payment solutions, emerging payments domain and ideation/go-to-market approach, e.g. mobile money, remittances, payment cards, ISO 20022, RTP, API-based platforms, overlay services such as Alias, etc.
Have a strong engineering or architecture background focused on Web technologies, APIs, and machine-to-machine communication over the Internet.
Have deep knowledge and passion around emerging payments technologies and their potential to change money movement.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on delivering for clients.
Possess high levels of professionalism and leadership skills to build business relationships, trust and respect within and outside of Visa
Strong collaborator, self-motivated and the ability to work independently at coordinating across functional activities, obtain buy-in and elevate issues at critical junctures appropriately.
Independent judgment and mature decision-making skills to deal with projects that often have enterprise-wide scope and may have significant cost and time-to-market impact
