Job Description

The Clinical Training Specialist provides essential training and clinical support to healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective use of CNS therapy products. This role focuses on enhancing HCP confidence and competence in patient treatment through education on approved indications, development of customer-facing resources, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The Clinical Specialist works with our Commercial In-Field Team in their designated regions  regionally to drive product adoption while improving patient care and supporting informed decision-making throughout the patient journey.

We are open to considering candidates seeking both part time (2.5 days per week) and full time (5 days per week) for this position. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supported by our sales team, identify customers who will benefit from more technical product support, and work in clinic with those customers to drive confidence in the use of our product, tailoring to the needs of the customer
  • Provide product educational services to HCPs, through a variety of channels, to support HCPs to increase their knowledge, confidence, clinical understanding and advocacy of our product in the relevant therapeutic areas and approved indications.
  • Ensure positive HCP experience with AbbVie products by providing ongoing clinical and educational support at all stages of the educational journey.
  • Build strong relationships and advocacy with HCPs nationally and within key accounts. Be seen as a valued resource through the quality of the education and support provided.
  • Maintain up to date in-depth technical knowledge of specialty, disease areas, AbbVie product and competitive marketplace.
  • Work with the cross functional team to prioritise target accounts, given the wide scope of the role. Provide insight and share best practice to inform National and Territory account plans, including proactively identifying opportunities to add value to HCPs and patients. Use innovative thinking and practices to overcome barriers and respond to critical business opportunities and threats.
  • Monitor and review specific actions as identified and agreed within National and Territory account plans.
  • Share experiences, expertise, ideas and techniques to assist with the training of internal colleagues in the team.
  • Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.
  • Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
  • Adhere to AbbVie’s codes of conduct and compliance processes, including timely training and maintaining ethics and integrity.
  • Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.

Qualifications

  • Background experience as a Healthcare Professional i.e Nurse, Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist Physician and/or Physician assistant
  • Post-reg qualification degree/MSc/PhD – desirable
  • Proven neurology and/or rehabilitation experience in a clinical environment-preferably as an injector - desirable
  • Experience confidently presenting to, and educating others at national, regional or local clinical meetings with a strong clinical, medical and scientific knowledge of the therapeutic sector;
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, particularly in context of spasticity management and practical knowledge and understanding of the local heath care system,
  • Proficient in the use of business tools and IT, including virtual engagement platforms in scenarios where physical travel is not possible.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive, creative and genuinely passionate about training and education, with an ability to bring new and innovative approaches to the traditional model of training
  • Demonstrated capacity for training based on scientific evidence and best practices
  • Experience working within diverse cross functional teams and evidence of influencing and building relationships as part of this
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in rehabilitation centre desirable, but not essential
