Senior Global Payroll Analyst

Introduction to the team:

Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including our Global Finance Org., Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal Team, Strategy and Corporate Development Team, and People & Places Org.

The Global Payroll team is responsible for the timely execution of payroll activities, by verifying compliance, effective management of vendors and timely execution of issues. The team works to ensure that payroll processing accurately reflects the company-specific pay policies and procedures for each country where our employees work.

As Senior Global Payroll Analyst, you will be accountable for multiple complex countries or act as a deep SME for a large complex country, ensuring payroll activities are accurate, timely and compliant within EMEA jurisdictions. You will work with stakeholders across the business, supporting them with their queries and providing support.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure accurate processing and execution of payroll activities for multiple complex countries.
  • Adhere to local legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. reporting mandates, policy compliance, pay code management)
  • Suggest and engage in transformation / process improvement discussions
  • Maintain long-term relationships with vendors to ensure high-quality products and services are delivered consistently
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting and Tax teams to ensure accurate General Ledger and Tax reporting
  • Perform pre- and post-analysis of payroll to identify root-cause issues and find enhancement opportunities
  • Support on and complete payroll audits and reporting
  • Adhere to local statutory obligations timely manner

Experience and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll, ideally in an international organization supporting multiple countries / jurisdictions
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant field, or equivalent industrial qualifications or experience
  • Experience with Workday, ServiceNow (CRM) and CloudPay (Payroll and advanced reporting)
  • Expert knowledge in payroll and employment tax
  • Understanding of downstream financial impacts of payroll outputs
  • Expert understanding of Tax, Social Insurance, Employment Law and Regulatory Practices
  • Ability to identify, research and advise of potential compliance issues
  • Understanding of SOX expectations
  • Ability to manage Internal and External Audit requests
  • Excellent time management skills, fast and practical in urgent cases. Good understanding and identifying the priority of a task.
  • Patience and detailed to solve complex issues to identify discrepancies.
  • A true team player who enjoys engaging with the team members and supports them.
  • A good listener, observer, analyzer and always willing to learn more.

Please note that this role is only available in the following locations: Prague, in alignment with our flexible work model which requires employees to be in-office at least three days a week.
