Job Description

The Brand Excellence Director - Pipeline will be responsible for ensuring future asset planning is executed at an optimized level across the AbbVie portfolio by leveraging the recently enhanced PCS capabilities for strategic brand planning.

This individual should be familiar with and have direct leadership experience for the touchpoint process and pipeline deliverables such as the Disease Area Strategy (DAS), Early Brand Plan (EBP), and Early Integrated Value Proposition (EIVP) deliverable. This individual will partner with pipeline teams aiding onboarding, asset deliverable development, and ensuring evolution and best practices are shared across the pipeline teams and business unit leaders. This individual will be accountable for the quality of enterprise materials created to ensure newly formed IBT’s have an optimized set of deliverables to build upon at Touchpoint 3.

Additionally, this individual will be responsible for ensuring a strong transition from pipeline to newly formed Integrated Brand Teams (IBT’s) while eliminating the need for re-work and delays to market. This individual will be tasked with enhancing the process of creating strong pre-market materials and analyzing the pipeline-to-IBT transition process, creating efficiencies for stronger agility and momentum while partnering with numerous departments throughout AbbVie.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in on-boarding new individuals to the Pipeline Commercial Strategy (PCS) teams
  • Drive impact within the commercial model via partnership with Pipeline Commercial Strategy team and Business Units.
  • Partner with pipeline Commercial Strategy Team to optimize Disease Area Strategy and Early Brand Plan process and other deliverables.
  • Drive adoption and understanding of Early Integrated Value Proposition pipeline deliverable.
  • Encourage adoption and understanding of how teams can leverage the newly developed Strategic Optionality PCS capability.
  • Partner with Pipeline Commercial Strategy team to enhance process for asset transition from Pipeline team to newly formed IBT’s for launch assets.
  • Partner with Brand Excellence Launch counterpart to ensure IBT readiness for new asset transition.
  • Lead the PCS Advisory Council and PCS Forum communities to drive collaboration and learning across TA teams.
  • Where appropriate, participate in early pipeline deliverable projects including piloting of novel approaches to enhance agility and quality.
  • Educate and share best practices across early pipeline teams and US area business unit leads to ensure optimized enterprise approach to new assets.
  • Educate and coach commercial organization on Touchpoint process, timing, and deliverables.
  • Partner with international counterparts on global deliverables and improvements to Touchpoint process.
  • In partnership with Pipeline Commercial Strategy colleagues, analyze, identify, and build tools or plans to improve any existing pipeline or asset quality or transition processes.
  • Maintain SharePoint and any other communication channels to ensure organizational access to the most current processes and information.
  • Assess and implement through partnerships as appropriate, AI tools to assist in Pipeline Commercial Strategy development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 12+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, CRM, or related fields, including 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Touchpoint process and associated governance bodies.
  • Pipeline experience and familiarity with deliverables (Disease Area Strategy, Early Brand Plan, Early Integrated Value Proposition, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of 1-7-5 process.
  • Training and coaching experience.
  • Experience managing business processes and leading efforts to improve impact and quality of operational effectiveness.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to inspire change collaborating with people without direct management responsibility.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills across a variety of organizational functions and levels including Business Unit Leads.
  • Proven history of successful matrix and project management.

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​
