We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Shop Operations Manager to join our team specializing in Operations for Edmonton, AB.
Job Summary:
Provides manufacturing leadership for small or medium size plant, shift or department. Manages multiple shifts of an assembly line, fabrication or machining operation.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

- Develop and Empower Talent Through coaching and goal setting, you’ll help employees grow in their roles, supporting their training, performance, and career development.
- Champion Continuous Improvement You’ll identify opportunities for process optimization and innovation, driving sustainable improvements in manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction Through Operational Reliability Your leadership will directly impact on the quality and timeliness of product delivery, strengthening customer trust and loyalty.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent degree required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Significant level of relevant work experience, including managerial, leadership, and budgetary experience, required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must be able to travel within the USA as part of the role.
- A degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field is required.
- Prior experience in the remanufacturing industry is essential.
- Provide a safe environment (both physical and psychological) for employees to achieve their potential.
- Lead safety initiatives, including HIRA, coaching employees towards an interdependent culture, addressing safety concerns proactively, and ensuring compliance tasks are completed on time.
- Measure business performance and initiate site-level initiatives to ensure business results are delivered.
- Lead the annual operating plan, forecasts, and other measurements for manufacturing operations.
- Manage, coach, and develop staff; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.
- Collaborate closely with material planning teams to review material availability and ensure timely product delivery.
- Develop production plans for High Horsepower engines and Power Module Kist for Komatsu Haul trucks and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives.
- Work closely with union partners to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide support to technical and service teams for critical customer issues.
- Support accounting functions with respect to E&O (engine core)
