- Lead the design and build of advanced data streaming solutions, modernizing Moody’s entire data platform to enhance reliability, speed, and scale
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust and scalable data streaming pipelines using technologies including Kafka, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Databricks
- Drive a DataOps mindset by implementing CI/CD practices for data workflows, ensuring robust data observability, real-time monitoring, and effective incident response
- Lead transformation projects to sunset legacy systems and migrate to modern data platforms, developing strategies that minimize business disruption
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing, diverse team of data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
- Champion data management, data quality, and data governance initiatives across the organization, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and compliant
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Product, and IT to ensure data engineering solutions align with business objectives
- Oversee the evaluation and adoption of new data technologies and cloud-native solutions to continuously enhance Moody’s data infrastructure
Skills and Competencies
- 5+ years of leadership experience building, mentoring, and managing high-performing data engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated hands-on leadership in designing, building, and managing scalable, real-time data streaming pipelines using technologies like Kafka, MongoDB, and Databricks
- Proven experience with leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), leveraging their services to build and manage modern data architectures
- Strong expertise in data management frameworks, data quality, data governance, and implementing CI/CD practices (DataOps) for data workflows
- Strategic ability to lead complex migration projects, manage concurrent initiatives, and align technical strategy with broader business objectives
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and present complex technical concepts to executive leadership
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- Over 10 years of experience in data engineering, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity
