About the team

The Zillow Experience Design (ZxD) team designs end-to-end experiences that help movers and renters across Zillow’s products. We partner with Product, Engineering, Research, Data, and Marketing to create useful, intuitive experiences on web, mobile apps, and notifications. Within ZxD, the Mover Experience team owns the core shopping and renting journey—from casual browsing to confident decisions—and the Save & Return sub-team focuses on how shoppers save homes, return to them, and stay engaged over time through Favorites, co-shopping, and the emails, push notifications, and in-app messages that bring them back to Zillow.

About the role

As a Senior Product Designer (P4), you will lead design for notifications and ongoing engagement across the Save & Return experience. This role focuses on how Zillow shows up for users over time through email, push, and in-app messages. You will use these channels to guide progress, re-engage dormant shoppers, and build lasting relationships. We are updating our comms platform to be the smartest one yet, powered by AI to tailor and provide an even more personalized experience.

You will partner with Product, Engineering, Content, Data, and Marketing to design high-quality, scalable communication experiences that adapt to user intent and support shoppers across long, non-linear journeys. While you will collaborate with teams across the U.S. and Mexico, this role is based in Mexico and is part of Zillow’s growing Mexico design community.

  • Own the design of shopping and renting notifications, including email, push, and define and build a new in-app notification experience.

  • Identify and design communications for key moments across the journey—from early dreaming to re-engagement—that reduce friction, build confidence, and prompt progress.

  • Collaborate with AI and Design Technology partners to incorporate adaptive patterns (such as ranking, personalization, and summarization) into notification experiences.

  • Partner with Product, Experience Design, Data, and Marketing to use communications as a core driver of engagement, retention, and long-term growth.

  • Work closely with Content Design and Product Marketing to shape clear, user-centered value propositions and messaging.

  • Ensure email, push, and in-app messages are clear and consistent so users understand why something matters and what to do next.

  • Create patterns and frameworks that help other designers deliver effective communications experiences at scale.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • You have 7+ years of experience in product or UX design, including shipping features for consumer apps or platforms at scale, in close partnership with Product and Engineering.

  • You design end-to-end experiences—from early concepts through polished execution—within a defined problem space.

  • You have experience or strong interest in engagement, retention, lifecycle, or personalization work, especially across communications or multi-channel experiences such as emails, notifications, in-app, or other cross-touchpoint systems.

  • You are comfortable using data and experimentation (for example A/B tests, metrics, and qualitative insights) to inform and iterate on design decisions.

  • You’re comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving requirements and can bring structure and clarity to complex problems.

  • You bring solid interaction and visual design skills, with strong attention to detail and craft.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and spoken)

  • You are a collaborative teammate who communicates clearly and welcomes feedback.

  • You are proficient in Figma and modern design and prototyping tools.

  • Here at Zillow, we value the experience and perspective of candidates with non-traditional backgrounds. If you have transferable skills or related experiences, we encourage you to apply.
