The Role:
The VP Mgr, Delivery Manager, Strategic Programs at Moody’s Finance is tasked with the comprehensive management of strategic initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring that all programs are looked at from and end-to-end, data-driven insights and outcomes perspective. This role demands a robust understanding of finance, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to foster relationships within finance and across the organization. With responsibilities including the oversight of various processes and programs, the VP will enhance efficiencies, enforce standardization, and lead change management efforts to guarantee the smooth adoption of new processes and analytics.
Operating in a matrix environment, this position requires adept navigation through complex organizational structures and effective coordination among multiple departments to align and advance strategic objectives. The VP must efficiently manage cross-functional teams, exercise both direct and indirect influence to meet project milestones and exceed deliverable expectations. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring that strategic initiatives are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role embodies the drive for continuous improvement and innovation, underpinning the culture of Moody’s Finance strategic endeavors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Program Management: Coordinate the tracking and execution of strategic programs to support finance organization’s objectives to deliver on Finance cross-functional workstreams related to program level activities (ie: software implementation, data/reporting roadmaps, mergers and acquisitions, etc.) that implement, streamline, and automate new and existing processes. Periodically report progress / initiative status and present alternative scenarios as applicable for senior leadership decision-making when roadblocks arise.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to streamline financial processes that support finance operations, leveraging appropriate technologies to deliver on point-to-point solutions.
- Mergers and Acquisition Support: Manage the day-to-day activities of the Finance M&A space, coordinating from inception through integration often proposing new ideas and improvements to the overall process along the way. This requires the ability to influence across the organization to create a streamlined approach that allows the Finance organization to meet the needs and timelines of the broader MCO-wide M&A strategy.
- Change Management: Manage and support change initiatives around strategic programs, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new processes and technologies including trainings.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate, negotiate, and influence key stakeholders, including senior management, to align and deliver on strategic programs in support of business needs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance, with a focus on transformation, cross functional collaboration, business support, or process improvement initiatives.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities with a solid understanding of change management principles. Proficiency in understanding various types of financial software, ERP systems, and analytical tools a plus.
- Attributes: Strategic thinker, results-oriented, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$168,100 - [[$243,700, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
