The Analytics and Performance Operations (APEX) team supporting AbbVie’s US Commercial organization is growing every day. The Manager of Data Strategy and Business Intelligence will develop and execute data strategy plans to support the Market Access and Patient Services organization. This role will report to the Associate Director – Market Access and Patient Services Data Transformation support enterprise capabilities for the APEX organization
Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of market access data architecture and data flows
- Proactively identify and resolve data quality and integrity issues
- Collaborate with Business technology Solutions (BTS) and data engineering teams to optimize data pipelines
- Troubleshoot complex data-related problems and implement sustainable solutions
- Develop and execute a plan for data acquisition and enablement across the various Market Access data domains
- Serve as a subject matter expert for data related to key Market Access domains (eg: claims, Payor and Plan hierarchy, syndicated data assets etc.)
- Lead the design, build, and implementation of new BI platforms and analytics solutions
- Drive ongoing platform enhancements based on evolving business needs and technological advancements
- Establish and maintain BI standards, best practices, and governance frameworks
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and manage requirements for key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Define and maintain business rules ensuring data accuracy and consistency across reporting
- Translate complex business needs into technical specifications for BI solutions
- Execute data assessments across new and existing data assets and make use case recommendations to analytics teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Business, Management Information Systems, Engineering, and/or Operations is required 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in leading projects independently
- Experience in concepts of Managed Market controls and pricing (Trade, PBMs, Payors, Government), Pharmaceutical supply chain, Health system affiliations and formulary data
- Experience in business and/or analytics consulting roles for technology/analytics services companies a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of syndicated pharmaceutical data sources, including claims data sources
- Proven track record of successfully delivering BI initiatives from concept to production
- Strong analytical mindset with passion for working with data
- Hands-on proficiency in BI tools and platforms (e.g. Power BI)
- Experience with data modeling and database design principles
- Hands on ability with tools, programming languages and cloud infrastructure for ETL – SQL, Trino Snowflake, AWS.
- Strong experience with data enablement including dimensional data models, ETL workflows and SQL queries leveraging a variety of technologies to support the analytics value chain across descriptive and predictive analytics
