We are currently hiring a Senior RTR Accountant to our Finance Team where you will be situated in the wonderful Forskaren building!  


Job Description

As Senior RTR Accountant, you are a key member within the Finance team, driving strategic accounting initiatives and ensuring excellence across all financial operations. This role involves close collaboration with centralized support functions such as Financial Shared Services (FSS) and Centers of Excellence (CoE) like Tax and Treasury, to uphold the highest standards of compliance and efficiency.

You are responsible for complex accounting tasks not performed by centralized services, with a strategic focus on aligning practices with evolving internal and external regulatory requirements. The role prioritizes the continuous optimization of accounting processes, leveraging industry best practices to enhance financial performance.

As an integral part of the team, you engage with cross-functional team members to refine planning and reporting processes, contributing to the broader financial strategy. Reporting directly to the Controller you  provide strategic support and recommendations.

Highlighted Key Responsibilities:

  • Scope of work: Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway and Denmark)
  • Strategic Collaboration: Lead strategic initiatives to enhance collaboration with Financial Shared Services (FSS) team, driving improvements in processes like asset management, account reconciliation, leasing, etc.
  • Leadership in Statutory Reporting: Oversee the statutory year-end closing process, ensuring compliance with Swedish legal reporting requirements and leading collaboration with FSS and the Tax CoE to drive efficient reporting strategies.
  • Month-End Leadership: Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and reliability in accruals and account reconciliation, while collaborating with other finance team members to enhance their analytical skills and expertise.
  • Innovation in Internal Controls: Spearhead initiatives to refine internal control systems, ensuring robust compliance with legal, financial, and AbbVie-specific policies while introducing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Advanced Analysis and Reporting: Drive analysis of financial reports such as Gross To Net and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), providing actionable insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Treasury Leadership: Lead treasury operations, including monthly VAT and CIT declarations, and foster strategic relationships with external banking partners to optimize financial processes.
  • Champion of Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts for ongoing process improvement, proactively identifying opportunities for optimization and ensuring adherence to AbbVie's quality standards and policies.
  • Proactive Contribution: Consistently contribute to new finance-related projects by offering expertise and insights to support cross-departmental initiatives, demonstrating readiness to participate in efforts that drive innovation and improve financial processes.
  • Internal & External Reporting: Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to both external and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Business Administration/Accounting and Finance
  • Min. 5 years of experience in accounting related role, good understanding of US Gaap and Swedish accounting requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to analyze and optimize processes
  • Pragmatic / solution oriented work style
  • Strong communication skills - ability to effectively communicate with Affiliate, centralized accounting services and external partners as auditors, Swedish administration, banks, etc.
  • Team-player - builds strong relationships and contributes to a positive working environment
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Fluent in Swedish and English
