    Position Overview

    Autodesk is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Software Development Manager to join the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Data team! In this role, you will be responsible for managing multiple teams working to deliver cloud services that power the data infrastructure of Autodesk's existing and future AEC products. This opportunity is for you if you are excited by the idea of transforming how AEC professionals use data to capture knowledge, inform decisions, and deliver projects.

    You will work closely with product managers and be responsible for all engineering activities, including feature development, bug fixes customer escalations, and technical investigations. You will lead agile teams in a scaled agile environment, nurture talent, develop best practices, encourage an open communications environment, and provide guidance and mentoring to build high-performing teams that provide impactful high-quality solutions to customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Accountable for team results and initiatives. Plan and manage successful completion of projects to fulfil goals while coordinating across multiple project teams. Work with the team to break down complex technical requirements into logical execution slices. Help team to identify, solve and/or escalate dependencies and roadblocks.
    • Manage team's performance to ensure successful project completion. Inspire, motivate and coach team members to achieve maximum productivity, creativity and efficiency.
    • Develop Autodesk culture values in the teams. Enhance engineering efficiency by observing the team, identifying opportunities, and fostering a continuous improvement mindset.
    • Lead team to support customers and solve customer incidents and issues promptly. Help team members understand the importance of customer-centricity and customer empathy.
    • Guide team to build customer trust, including best in class resiliency, performance, scalability, and reliability. Advocate and build engineering and cloud service excellence in the teams.
    • Recruit and nurture best talent to develop high-performing teams.
    • Lead, provide technical guidance, and mentor developers to develop their careers and to achieve individual success. Up-skill developers to meet organisational needs and individual career goals.
    • Educate team members on how their work aligns with organisational goals.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
    • 8+ years of hands-on software development experience building scalable cloud services
    • 2+ years of experience leading and managing full stack development teams
    • Experience leading teams developing large, highly scalable, performant and resilient cloud services
    • Experience building Cloud APIs
    • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
    • Experience hiring talented developers and setting up teams for success
    • Experience managing geo-distributed teams across different time zones
