Work you'll do/Responsibilities

Business Insurance Guidewire POD team will support integration development, testing & deployment for Guidewire integration with downstream systems. Facilitate Agile delivery for insurance product and technology teams, removing impediments, improving flow, and ensuring predictable delivery while supporting strong governance, risk awareness, and regulatory/compliance needs.
  • Lead Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily scrum, backlog refinement, sprint review, and retrospectives.
  • Coach the team on Scrum/Agile practices; partner with Product Owner to improve backlog quality (INVEST user stories, acceptance criteria).
  • Track delivery health: sprint goals, velocity (as a signal), burnup/burndown, cycle time, WIP, and predictability; report status clearly.
  • Support insurance governance: documentation, audit trail, change control, release readiness, and operational handoffs.
  • Manage risks/issues and escalation; coordinate with PMO/release management on schedules and cutovers.
  • Promote quality practices: Definition of Ready/Done, test automation alignment, defect triage, and release stabilization.
  • Enable stakeholder alignment: demos, communication, and expectation management across business, IT, and operations.
  • Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management
  • Independently and collaboratively lead client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes including implementing leading practice workflows, addressing deficits in quality, and driving operational outcomes

Qualifications

Required
  • 3-7+ years in Scrum Master/Agile delivery roles (insurance or regulated industry preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating Agile teams delivering software (digital, core systems, data, integration).
  • Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile principles; experience with scaling (SAFe/LeSS/Nexus) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Agile tooling (Jira/) and reporting.
  • Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with insurance domain processes (claims, underwriting, policy admin, billing) and release governance.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred
  • Knowledge of Guidewire is preferred
  • AWS

This compensation range is specific to Maryland and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,750 to $171,250.
